Catapult feature

I know that the catapult launch feature is presently activated by "wep" boost key (#7 on my joy stick) ... but is there a way to change this and have it activate with ... say Shift+A (which is what I use for AFTERBURNER on jets so equipped). It's probably a little thing ... but I just hate to lose the boost sound and effect by replacing it with a catapult feature ... which I find you really do need sometimes. to be able to get a fully loaded beast off the deck.

Maybe instead of Shift+A ... some other key combo that nobody ever otherwise uses in CFS2 would be even better.

Thoughts and input much appreciated.:help:

Bill,

I'm not at home right now, so I can't confirm the exact path here, but:

Click on Options>Key Board Assignments to open up your CFS 2 key assignment page.

Scroll down to the one you need to adujst and then click on "Change Assignment."

CFS 2 will tell you if that assigment is assigned or if it is free. You can assign anything you want to what you want, but remember to reassign any that you overwright.

:friday:Thanks, Jagd!

You'd have to find a clever dicky to re-write the .dll file for ya.

If you re-prog'ed the key, ...wep would be on the same new key also.

(I could hit it w/ a hammer a few times, ...and stare confusingly at it for a while, ...but I don't think it would do any good.)

Ask TR, ...he's got smarts...

:173go1:OUCH!

That's what I was affraid of. I believe I understand why thecatapult effect was set up withthe WEP key ... but that's to bad because that
means you don't have the WEP feature. (not that it is as dramatic as say kicking in the AB!!!).

It was just a thought passing through my mind and in truth, unless an easy fix ... probably not worth the time it would take to rework.

That's OK ... I'll think of something more sinister or convoluted next time! :friday:

Actually...

...ya do have WEP. (read the readme)

Catapult.cfg is a one-shot wonder.

After it fires, ...WEP functions normally.

PS. set the catapult.cfg to:

50 Ft per sec acceleration // 30kts
;; 59 Ft per sec acceleration // 35kts
;; 150 Ft per sec acceleration // 89kts
0 degrees rotate aircraft (not read by hurricat)

These aren't steam cats, ...they're hydraulic.

They threw the A/C off the deck @ ~ 1.1 stall speed, ...not 150kts.
