WWI maps that work

I am looking for vintage maps of the era that will work with OFF. Are there any good maps that I can print off to use for Navigation?
 
There are many links here on the forum of WWI maps. But....they're not very accurate and don't go as far east as the Alsace/Lorrain area. do an advanced search and look for maps or navigation in the Phase 2 forum and you should find the links. But, if you want to navigate in Alsace, you should go to MS Encarta. I use screenshots of those maps and they're 99.9% accurate with all of OFF.
 
We used to have some maps that Rabu scanned - they were a download, on Polovski's page I think, but they seem to have disappeared now. I use them, particularly the large one 'The Western Front' which shows the location of all the British airfields 1915/16. Scale is about 1 inch to 5 miles, which is about right for navigation as it shows features such as main roads, railways, towns, rivers. It is a period map, out of copyright from the 1920s, 'prepared by the Historical Section of the Committee of Imperial Defence'.

Perhaps some skilled recon pilot should take a two-seater up in QC mode and take aerial "photographs" (i.e. screenshots) of various sectors of the front from a suitable altitude :). A composite bitmap mapping of the front could thus be compiled & made available, could it not?

Hay, Blechley, aren't they on Pol's site anymore? If not, I'll dig them up and post them on my site or some where else.. let me know.

I had a look, Rabu, and I couldn't see them. I have a feeling he had to take them off a while back because of bandwidth issues. If I am wrong, and they are there, I apologise (going boss-eyed, maybe) :)

Sure, no problem... I was going to say that I could post them on my site, but if you want to do it, great. If you get to many hits, I'll post em on my site.
