CV-9 USS "Essex" WWII for FSX/P3D

Yes, I wasnt at home. It was a small problem in FSX (in P3D was ok), now looks ok I think in both sim (thx Dave).
I removed also "9" from the tower and hull as it was i real Essex. AI Carrier 2 is necessary to see all accompanying ships.

Funny, I painted it this morning? Have you hacked my computer?

Just FYI, the YouTube video of "The Fighting Lady" is better quality than a DVD I bought a while back. Even the VHS version I got from the USS Yorktown museum store years ago was better than the DVD. I'd love to see TFL restored and reissued with the same great color and quality as "Dive Bomber".

Saw Dive Bomber on TV not long ago and the quality was outstanding. Almost eerie watching the hi quality color movie scenes of squadrons of Grumman F3F's that looked like the film was shot this year, then you realize it was made 75 years ago!

:redfire::jump::applause:

we're going to need some WWII tacpack birds

Apologies, very off topic but along the lines quoted above:

While I absolutely agree on the warbirds being TacPack'ed, can warships also be equipped with weapons that defend and/or attack? Imagine putting the SBD and Helldiver to work dropping bombs and launching torpedoes onto the moving airfield and their supporting ships. Does the capability already exist and I am ignorant of that aspect? This would be a graphically beautiful update to CFS.

I think you accidentally typo-ed an answer to your question there. You can already do that in CFS2, presumably in CFS3 and in the IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 series, which lets you take off a whole formation from a carrier, not just the player a/c.

You haven't missed it. YoYo posted on Tuesday that he plans to upload it this weekend.

I havent good info, I did the test Today and found the one bug in new effect. Asked Henrik about it. If he reply me, I'll add the package as soon as possible but not Today, sorry.

3 new screenies of "45 version" + alpha model of incoming "Corsair" of Milviz (WiP). :wavey:

Thanks for the update, YoYo. Do whatever you have to do. I'm retired so I have time on my hands to check on your progress every day. :biggrin-new: Screenshots are beautiful.

If you have tacpac, any ship in your boats folder can be added to the tacpac Carrier tab. When it's point defences activated they can a b**** to try and sink We practice all the time trying to sink them when there defenses are activated . You sometimes have to sworm them with multiple aircraft to get to them

Now that's an interesting tidbit of info I did not know......you sir, have my interest piqued. Any videos already showcasing that? Not wanting to detract from this great thread but if possible, can this topic make it's own thread if a video exists? I'll do some searching but definitely a bit more excited now. Thanks.

This concept of military operations in FSX - with its prons & cons compared to other sims - has been worked on for a while (from various people with this interest and from various different aspects) :

- Tacpack (for weapons & systems)
- FSX@War theaters (with detailed weapon/target destruction)
- Detailed FSX planes (by FSX developers)
- Enhanced FSX virtual environment (by users or developers)
- AI fighting user

This last ability (AI fighting user : vehicles, boats, statics - even planes to a lesser extend) is "about" to be offered in FSX/P3D community, thus about to conclude this concept of miliatry/combat scenario flying in FSX/P3D, for people interested in such an activity.
It's called FSCAI and will be probably part of FSC RED (or not).
More about FSCAI (C=combat) you may find here : http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php/104404-AI-Combat-addon-(FSCaptain-1-8)

To the point of your quoted post - also myself waiting with a great interest for Yoyo's release - I had started developing an interactive combat photoreal Pacific theater based in FSX Mission System. But when I was aware of the existance of FSCAI, stopped to see & figure out how would this evolve and practically be applied.

Anyway, here is a video of fighting IJN ships in my Mission based Pacific theater, though
I expect that with FSCAI, results will be even better (and in Free Flight and Multiplayer also) :
