Music Lovers - Pt.2: Grammy Time

Question: Are the Grammy Awards at all important? Are they harmful? I'm looking for opinions here and would appreciate more than one word answers. Many Thanks

JAMES

I used to watch the Grammy Awards, and other shows like it. But for the past few years, some of the nominees and winners have tended to voice their opinion on things totally unrelated to the reason they were there..............

Thanks for answering, Chief. I don't remember a time when they didn't do what you're describing, so I guess I just kind of take it in my stride.

I'd prefer to have my teeth extracted without Novocaine before watching the Grammy Awards. Nuff' said......

I walk into my local Best Buy and walk past the new releases and I don't know who these people are !

My music comes from the late 70's, 80's, and 90's and some current Country, so the awards shows offer little in just a passing interest.

That's a very interesting statement for me to because I recall the withering contempt I still hear from some of the MySpace era yoots, because Herbie Hancock won last year, and they didn't know who he was. Now, I fully expect the Jonas Brothers to win an award, but to my ear they sound like a band you'd hear at a high school talent show. That being said, I have some 1963 footage of the Beatles and it's near impossible for me to imagine the band performing in that footage producing Revolver or Sgt. Pepper four years later. So, you never know. Thank you for answering.
