Making good progress on the civil version of this aircraft with only the VC animations to tag.

Bumps and specs placeholders are in place.

The military version will take a bit more time as we have other projects requiring time.

Geez, do you ever just fly? I love your work, and have most of your planes, but it seems like every day there's a new one. When can you have time to fly ?

LOL

Milton flies his planes in his dreams, while he sleeps. He also dreams about new planes he'd like to fly and when he wakes up... he builds them. :encouragement:

Tried her out in P3Dv4, she looks great. Not knowing how she really flied but I expected here to be a bit more aerobatic, could not flip or roll her. Just a few minor things to report.

P3D did not like the atc_id value, I think it expects only letters numbers or dashes, it would not let me continue until I removed the space.

I did notice the beacon flashed through the entire plane when it blinked but I could turn it off when it got annoying.

And for a civilian conversion it seamed strange to have so many switches for the gun site.

Over all a very good looking and interesting aircraft, more of a challenge to fly that the typical civilian AC I pull out.

Thanks for testing in v4.

Just out of curiosity, would you try this fix.

Change the beacon lights entry with this statement:

light.2 = 1, 4.0, 0.0, -1.7, fx_beacon_commander.fx,

And add this attached effect to your effects folder.

Thanks

BTW, I corrected the atc_id.

Will give some thought to the armament panel but not likely to make texture changes for the conversion.

Hi Milton, I gave that a try and it worked great!

Flying in P3D 4. All the click spots work. The sound is superb. It handles like a dog on the ground, which it should at taxi speeds.
The one problem I found, was that I don't seem to have any lights on the wing tips. All the switches are on. I tried the "L" key. The beacons work, the landing light works, but not the wing lights. I went into the config file, and removed the "//" , as it said- "//lights modeled - not needed here unless you want them brighter." This seemed to have no effect. The third picture was after the "//" removal. Should have the standard red and green right ?

Sorry, went back and double checked, I had changed the recog lights, but not the nav lights. When i removed the // on the nav lights, they became visible. I still don't see the recog lights. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right place ? I expect them on the wing, usually on the trailing edge some where ?
It will roll, haven't tried a loop yet.
LOL

Sue,

Thanks for the testing and reports. I believe I eliminated the modeled wing tip lights but failed to un-comment the Lights parameters in the cfg, AND failed to provide the new light effects, attached.
Place in your effects folder.

I'll look at that again moving forward.

Hmmm, rolls and loops ... this aircraft weights as much as the B-26 Marauder (medium bomber) and more than the A-20 Havoc (light bomber).

Empty weight = 25000lbs; max weight = 37000lbs

I'll take another look at the taxi handling; maybe I can improve steering.

Thanks for your help.:wavey:

EDIT: Added two more light effects just in case some do not have those medium brightness nav lights.

I was steering with differential braking, I assumed this to be the method for the monster... Thanks for the light fix !
Hey, you can roll a B-25, if you are careful...
LOL

Ok, the recog lights are working, but need re-positioned. They seem to be floating under the fuselage.
I love this plane ! Headed to bed, more later...
