hellow :173go1:

in this page there are nice lockheed hubson series:
http://www.virtualwings.org/hudson/index.htm

and, in the description of the models ,I see this messege:

All models of the Hudson from here on in will be official releases. They include braking parts, complete VC, and other goodies. I will update the earlier beta releases as time allows.

I test the 4 models of this website and improvises a breaking parts in the .dp file, there no locations in effects, this resulting in a famous multiplication of models when shooting to him as if they were parts.

Now, what is the mysteri? this picture:

This guys have a breaking part model, but upload a bad mdl and bad .dp!
I don´t understand!:caked:

Hi Maxstuka,

Paul Strany mentions on his website he is having a rest from Hudsons - that was in 2004.

I've been looking forward to the release of the Hudson shown in the series of pictures. It's a North African based RAAF 459 Squadron Hudson which was actually flown by a friend of mine (he is now in his eighties and playing golf regularly).

Let's hope Mr Strany finishes his beautiful model of the Hudson and releases it soon.

When I can download the model with breaking parts like picture?

Hi Gents;

apologies, I am a really bad webmaster, I guess. The updated model was uploaded back in 07, but I forgot to update the download page to include the link to the page where that updated model was available.

I'm really, really sorry. I have been very remiss in keeping things up to date. It has been a rough couple of years, and unfortunately a lot has just slid through the cracks. This is just one of those things, I guess.

I've now updated the download page to include a link to the page where that aircraft can be downloaded. the direct link is:

http://www.virtualwings.org/hudson/r.htm

Sorry, there were quite a few models and repaints that haven't made it to the page yet. As I said before, its been a bad couple of years. Hopefully things will settle down a bit, and I can get caught up.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the Hudson. I'm just finishing up an update of the Fokker D.21, as soon as I get that done I'll try to get a few of the other Hudsons posted.........

A quick addendum, I also fixed the link to the weapons pack. Sorry Kelti, the Mk VIII depth charge is not in the current package, I'll try and dig it out and update the weapons pack to include it (if I can remember how to make a weapons package, that is!)

However, this will give you the British 250 lb anti-ship bomb, as well as a British 250 lb and 100lb general purpose bomb, as well as the US 100 lb general purpose bomb (much sought after by British and Australian crews, as the British bombs tended not to be as reliable as the American 100 pounder.)

As to your friend who flew "R" of 459 Sqdn, my hat is off to him. If you want a real challenge, try flying a few anti-shipping missions in the Med with good old "R". I guarantee you will gain a new appreciation for him - it takes big brass ones to go up against a group of well-armed landing craft, with or without a destroyer escort (this was the main mission of 459 Sqdn in the summer of '42, cutting off Rommel's supply lines across the Med.)

I can never get in more than one pass before I have to head home with my tail between my legs.....

pstrany you can destroy with speed the mysteri! this is the important!

The model now is breaking parts

congratulations :medals:, and thanks!

Hey Paul! Good to see ya! Thanks for the new Hudson! It will be ice to see how your Fokker D.XXI has come along.

Hi Paul,

Thanks very much for that - a great job and what quick service!

I am going to install a MTO copy of CFS 2 on my friend Keith's new computer. He will be able to fly his old crate again, along with the Baltimore, to which 459 Squadron later converted. The Baltimores impressed Keith with their extra power.

Cheers,
Kevin

Hmmmm, somehow that screenshot doesn't look right. Looks like the textures are not lining up correctly on the engine cowling. Did you just download it? I hope I didn't cob up the archive file. I'll try to look into that later. Anybody else having that problem?

Oh crap! I know what that is now. That is a Mark IV MDL with Mark III textures! Oh man, what a dumb mistake! Sorry gents, I'll get that straightened out in a little while. I'll post again when I have it right.

As to the Fokker, Fouteman and friends had asked for a copy of the D.21 to import into CFS3. Since I had to do a little prep work to make it easier on them, I took the opportunity to update (or finish updating) the model for CFS2. Not a lot of new parts or anything, just that the wheels roll and the wings fall off and the aircraft has a bit of a sheen and such things as that. I'm just about done (which reminds me, I have to get a copy of the files to Fouteman) so that one should be up in a week or so.

After that, I'll try to bundle a few paints/models I have around for the Hudson and upload them. A couple of Mediterranean Hhudsons, another Far East, etc. Also have a Chinese Hudson (unarmed, nice for touring) and a Mark I, which kind of fits in with the Fokker (in a very roundabout way - at least they both flew in the same theater.)

Paul,

Don't panic!!!

I just used the new Mk IIIa textures on the older Mk IV beta version to see if they would work. The shot looked pretty nice, so I posted it. No wories on the Mk IIIa. It's textures are fine.

Here is the new MK IIIa V.99 Hudson over the Med with the proper texture set on it. Only the turret seems to be an issue.

Sorry about the mix up. I should have noted my mods to the older model.

Hi;

okay, no worries. Thought I might have messed it up. Whew! The textures are the same from model to model, except where parts change such as cowlings, air intakes, and the like.) I've actually made every mark, from I to VI, things just kind of fell apart in the middle and I never got around to posting them. Hopefully I'll be able to correct that in the future.

As to the turret, this was produced separately from the Hudson, being of British manufacture (Bolton-Paul.) The turret was also used on some British bombers, notably the Halifax, and so was normally delivered painted overall black. The turret on Hudsons were, as best I can determine, rarely repainted, even when the aircraft was refurbished. Pictures of "R" reveal a Coastal Command scheme with white sides and lower surfaces, but a clearly black turret sitting square atop the fuselage. So yes, the turret is black on a largely white aircraft, but every photo I've ever seen of it show it with a black turret!

Paul

Black it is then!

I guess it's an appropriate color for the poor crew of this Italian steamer.

All I have left to do now is put Kelti's prop textures for the Hudson in and my crew chief will be happy.
