Captainsim B777 repaint kit Help Needed

NickB

I'm trying to do a repaint of Captainsim's B777 for a friend, using the paint kit, but when I try to save the Photoshop images as a bmp I get this:

[/IMG]

I have no idea what to do with any of those formats, and Dxtbmp doesn't appear to see them to convert them to dds. I have checked t'internet and the Captainsim forums but can't see anything to help.
Any ideas anyone?

Cheers.

They're all layered formats, which implies that it's trying to save only in formats which will retain your vector and/or layer information - you may need to flatten the layers to a single image and then save as bmp or, alternatively, use "Save Copy As..."

I've had it before as well. Never figured out why!

Additionally, you might wish to forget the dxt2bmp stage, download the nVidia DDS plugin for Photoshop and use that to export directly to .dds format. That saves a considerable amount of effort!

Edit: I haven't answered my own question there, have I... Do you have any vector information still in the image? Might that be why it's insisting on saving as layered?

Hi Ian, thanks for replying.
I usually merge the Photoshop layers before saving as a bmp then converting to dds. Have now also tried flatten but with the same result. Have downloaded the plugin and will try that.

Cheers.
