GAS Super Stearman

...................... I apologize for the trip down memory lane but if I recall correctly a crop duster is to be included in the super Stearman package. I can't expect one to have the aluminum clad fuselage covering as the one in the photos said:

The Crop Duster will have an aluminum clad fuselage

I'm looking forward to the release of the Super Stearman even more now. It just keeps getting better and better.

Thanks for all the Golden Age aircraft GAS has produced and for those yet to come.

Barry, as Dave said, thanks for sharing your story regarding the Stearman Crop Duster and your family and the pictures you posted as well. I think there are a lot of us looking forward to this release.:very_drunk:

This is Robert Sanderson FS9 Boeing 75 Crop duster R985 450hp model without the sprayers. If possible to have this model? The solo cockpit makes it unique.

Repaint I did for my personal use.

This repaint was from the movie "The Aviator" (1985) with Christopher Reeves.

Notice the canvas cover (no front cockpit) for mail storage.

We finally found historical archival footage from the Boeing archives that allowed for an accurate modeling of the aircraft on factory installed floats. While we could not find evidence that the US Military had any Model 75s configured as float planes apparently Boeing developed the Model 76 as an export trainer / fighter variant and mounted floats on that version designating it the S76D1. It was Pratt and Whitney powered with either the Wright Junior at 320 hp or the Wright at 420 hp. We've provided for the latter. The configuration manager allows for the cowl to be removed. Replacing the land plane tie downs is a mooring float. While we can not know with certainly what the factory paint scheme was we assumed silver dope on the fabric and gray painted metal. The video we used is at the website below

Here is the model in the sim

The final model will be a crop duster. If all goes well we'll be releasing the package around Christmas

Nice to see rare float version!
Please notice (I saw this video also) its a Argentinan Stearman, so the tail has wrong markings.

Top of the wing has registration too, yellow colour and 2 anchors. The tail: blue, white, yellow sun with face.

Btw. In the new kind of cockpit the GPS is present.
Any chance to have options to change this (awful) default GNS 295 to F1 GNS 430 as option (for sure) in settings menu for VC?
F1 has free SDK for this (F1 GNS completed Edition) and its 2 hours to do this I suppose (for a programmer). Pretty please! :wavey:

Its not that simple and would require a complete remodel and compile of the 3D parts supporting the GPS. With that said the one installed represents units being used in current models and portable units. So sorry I don't see that happening for this release.

Thanks for providing additional information and the color scheme. The current model will be updated to reflect the historically accurate scheme. One other livery is planned, that of a civilian bush plane of our own design.

As regards a GPS for the Stearman - I have successfully installed the inexpensive pop-up WeFly Works Team Auto Pilot/GPS in the Stearman & pretty well all of the other GAS models I fly.
A bit of code in Panel.cfg, [provided by WeFly], & check that in Aircraft.cfg, Autopilot=1, & you are away.
I find it very handy for long flights.
Looking forward to the Super Stearman

Popup (2D panel) isnt any problem with F1Config tool.
The problem is VC (Id like to see a little more advanced avioncs :wavey:).

btw.
any picture of Crop duster version :) ?
The time of release for Christmas is actual still?

Advanced avionics were not common in Stearmans of the era we build for. It looks like the next package will come out mid January.

Crop Sprayer Mod

Modeling of the sprayer/duster is essentially complete with a few things left to do plus textures. Package release will be mid to late January at this point

Crop duster version is it possible to have this with standard wings and no hood, no sparyers? The duster looks great!

Loving the crop duster Stearman! This is going to be a great package. Thanks for the previews. :)
