Was there a dedicated FSX version of the CS F-104 out there? I know they did an FS2004 version, but haven't seen a dedicated FSX model...

Nope !!
Recently came across a comment ( SOH Forum ) about a CS F104 "port over" someone was playing around with ... they were discussing concerns with the V/C.

Cheers

Not as far as I know. The FS2004 version works ok as a port-over but it can be converted with MCX; I've done it for the TF-104G and it works fine. No good for P3Dv4 because the vc is 32 bit and doesn't transfer. Have to use something else...

The SSW F-104's are very good if you can cope with their bizarre activation procedure, though they aren't cheap. Still one of my favourites.

That guy is probably speaking about the SimSkunkWorks team.
They had made an FSX F-104 freeware that was an upgrade of the Cloud9 F-104. After that, they made a new model for FSX, payware, still sold today. There's one for P3Dv4 as well.
I bought the payware version and it's a very realistic addon. The sound is superb.
I don't know where their freeware version could be downloaded though. It's not on their website anymore.

I have Virtavia's F-104G I got at PC aviator (where most Virtavia tiltles are 50% off) for $17. I like it and comes in multiple models (and there is a modded model here at the Outhouse in the "Ultra Clean" configuration without even the mounts for the wingtip 'winders)
