Just uploaded to here, a repaint of O.Fischers beautiful JU-52 modified by the Nor Cal Prop Club for FSX.FSX Junkers Ju 52/3m – 450 Squadron Royal Australian Air Force. This Luftwaffe Junkers Ju 52/3m transport aircraft was captured intact by Australian forces at Ain-El Gazala, Libya, repainted with the Royal Australian Air Force’s roundels and nicknamed “Libyan Clipper”. The aircraft was used by 450 Squadron RAAF to transport mail, food supplies and small items from Cairo and back to the front line, doing two or three trips each week.

Lovely work, Sir.

Most interesting subject, I like it! ( Fischer's model is terrific, perhaps still the best JU.52 around....!?!)

Thanks for sharing!

Nice work, Funny you posted this

Australia has a few civil junkers prior to the war which were pressed into service to do ferry runs around the country and PNG, From memory one of only 3 allied countries that used axis made aircraft that were purchased as operational aircraft, i was hoping for an update on the reslse of the aerosoft junkers so i could do the same and the other raaf paints ive done for the same model

There was also an article about this capture bird a few yrs back saying it was the allies prefered this choice plane to supply troops at front in Africa as axis pilots would often mistake it for its own and ignore it if spotted, the RAAF pilot interviewed said he would often see axis fighters close and turn away without engaging

Nice work and timely post for me.

I have been working on a variety of desert landing strips precisely for the desert campaign and my focus has been on 450 and 451 Squadrons RAAF and the Hurricane they used throughout the desert campaign (Well not 450 they went to P40s fairly quickly) but 451 plugged on with the Hurricane. Just need to do or find some repaints for these birds; the MKV Spitfire (AH version) and the AH Hurricane for these RAAF squadrons. Finding the right colours so far has eluded me.
