Prepar3D V5 releasing April 14th

FWIW,
I saw a comment on one of those Utube vids re: P3D V5:

P3D v4.5 + tomatoshade + rdpreset for tomatoshade + Rex skyforce 5 = P3D v5

It could be a joke....
P3Dv5 isnt graphical tweak only, its a dedicated engine for DX12.
Owner of this comment doesnt understand main feature of v5 I suppose or... its a joke :biggrin-new: .

Does anybody know which app or program is being used to show the GPU and CPU info on the top left in the video Yoyo posted? I would love to have something like that. The small red font used by PD3 is too small for my old eyes.

Thank you, Sir. I watched the video and downloaded the program. Now to set it up.

No problem. You can set up as You wants, here is my example from my gaming laptop where I monitor the temperature of CPU:

I did screenshots from Rob's video of P3Dv5 display settings, many option like in P3D before, weather has new position + Enhanced Atmosperics option:

Ahhh, nice catch! I don't know about anyone else, but I've been wondering what else they did to "enhance" the weather. I read a couple of comments elsewhere that they completely redid the weather for V5. As in they've made it considerably more dynamic than the past versions. I haven't seen a video yet, but it makes me wonder if that's something that actually happened considering what looks like dynamic wave swells etc.

Unless he has some added ATC, listening to the ATC chatter while he was over So Cal, makes me think that they might have upped the ATC game also.

I sure would like to know if my 1080ti graphics card and I7 processor will run P3DV5. I definitely cannot afford a Titan RTX card. I find it a little odd that LM did not publish the minimum requirements already. They will be soon, apparently, but why the delay? NC

I'd expect it to run 'Out Of The Box' on that combination, how well really depends of your settings and third party add-ons.
:encouragement:

Much better to my opinion than default v4. Sorry about the question: But are the clouds 3D or still 2D?

its hard to say, several preview videos have had 3rd party addons and textures installed. There hasnt been a vanilla video posted where there hasnt been any 3rd party software included in the preview.

Theres even dickheads with all the bells and whistles in v4.5 posting videos claiming to be v5 on utube and facebook

Thanks, Matt. Yeah, had a look over there at Youtube, and have to say, yes, many of them are not very impartial. Anyway I am very curious about the possible improvements - and probably we get some soon results in about a few weeks...

Prepar3D v5 has real 3D volumetric clouds, using the TrueSky technology just like FlightSimWorld and DeadStick Flight Simulator.
You also have an option to disable TrueSky in case you want to return to the ugly stupid 2D clouds from 1995 :)
