Possible to call-out specific AIRCRAFT folders?

Hiya Oh Wise and Wonderful CFS2 Gurus!

I was wondering is there is a way to set up different CFS2 shortcuts that will start CFS2 using specific AIRCRAFT folders?

I know its possible to have shortcuts that call out certain GSL files.

For example, adding a line to the CFGS.cfg/Prefs section like UseGSL=EmptyGSL or UseGSL=MR_PNG_GSL and adding cfg files named EmptyGSL.cfg and MR_PNG_GSL.cfg with associated shortcuts reading "C:\Simming Related\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 2\cfs2.exe" /CFG:EmptyGSL.CFG and "C:\Simming Related\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 2\cfs2.exe" /CFG: MR_PNG_GSL.CFG will do the trick.

I was wondering if there might be a similar way to do the same specifying different AIRCRAFT folders instead of gsl files? Such as Japanese AC only, or British AC only?

Cheers,
MR

PS I'm guessing one would need to included the stock AC in the additional folder.

Hi MR,

Yes indeed, by the use of batch files. Jean Bomber's EasyMultiInstall_1.1 shows you how to do it. http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=49&id=6374

You can modify his batch files to suit yourself by changing the .bat extension to .txt and editing in Notepad.

Using this method I have only one CFS2 engine driving all my theatres of war. Consequently I only need one GAUGES and one SCENEDB/inf folder. It saves a lot of duplication and narrows down searching for any problems that arise.

You can have as many aircraft, ships, UIRES, etc. folders as you like. Shortcuts to the batch files can of course be placed on the desktop.

The stock aircraft aren't required for each AIRCRAFT folder if you modify the Quick Combat list of aircraft.

Cheers,

Kevin
