DC Designs F-15 C, E & I Eagle (for P3D v4/v5) is Out

No conspiracy against the F-15

It is a real shame that this splendid model has been virtually ignored by almost all repainters. The JASDF Eagle Aggressors would value it a lot.
Only one person showed some work, but he never made it available.

Hi Fulvio_61

I don´t know which repainter you mean? If you mean Zsoltquack here in this forum - a very capable repainter who has done a lot of DCS F-15 repaints (and others) - than what is there against asking / to pm him friendly to publish or to produce the one or the other repaint? Perhaps he is even interested in doing a special wished repaint for you/for the community?

I think this DCS bird is not ignored - there is no conspiracy against it :untroubled:... We all can be happy for every tough work the repainters give us for free... There is no commitment to do any repaints of a bird...

You can also propose DCS to publish a special "Japan 日本 F-15 Repaint Edition" for a little money. I think there are more fans of this repaints ...and DCS would possibly sell more DCS F-15´s in the Asian sales region?

Greetings
RSE

Oh sorry....

I meant DCD - not DCS :redface-new:

Another aspect of the missing repaints: This DCD bird was published when FS 2020 was appearing on the horizon... It could be that the eyes and thoughts of a lot of repainters are more aimed on this new FS world at time.

It´s sad (I like FSX) but ff you are honest there are many good reasons for modelers and repainters to focuse on the future - FS 2020.

Only my opinion..

RS

Hi RS, I contacted the repainter you mentioned twice: the first for the SSW Starfighter, and the second for this DCS model. I have never been successful with my requests.
In the second case I was told that for the repaint of F-15 that he frequently presented in the "Screenshot" section he had received a donation, and therefore it was not possible to publish them.
Obviously I don't mean to disrespect in any way these people who publish their works for free ... too bad I don't have their skills to be able to do it myself.
As for the concomitance with FS 2020, I don't think it's a problem. There are still people working for FSX, and there may be compatibility between P3D and FS 2020 for repaint.
Regards,
Fulvio

I add that obviously I don't think there is any conspiracy against it, but in the SOH library I think you can find only about 4/5 repaint of this model, while several can be found in the "GroomLake Simulations" site.
Also here I tried to request some repaint of the JASDF Aggressors if possible, but again without success.

Sorry, I dont have this model, and have had zero interest in painting anything in a while.

so for now you stuck with the fake Wing Commander Barry Magann RAAF. Who is behind Groom Lake Simulations

Sorry Matt, I was really pointing out that some of your repaints had appeared on the site, not necessarily that they were for the DC Designs birds.
Barry-Bloody-Magann!
Man's a complete Dickhead.
:encouragement:

Has it been updated to include Sparrow missiles yet? That might up the interest. At least on the C model.
:ernaehrung004:

The Sparrows are really not that high on the list as so few users have expressed any interest either way - AIM-120s seem to be enough for the vast majority. It's a surprisingly difficult task to add an entirely new missile and the coding to make them appear when and as they should. Looking into it soon though, once the Super Hornet updates are complete.

I wasn't aware of this Jeansy, thanks for the heads' up!
Meh, hes now got a few alias on Facebook & forums. A poor pathetic excuse of a man and reported software pirate from his former peers. no wonder he got booted from a few payware development teams and websites. Hence why he doesnt upload to FS sites.

Hi! I won't create a fuss about this, but I need to register the following for all SOH members, as the F15 is an iconic and well-loved airplane, it deserves to be well represented in the simulator.
Some time ago (May18,2020 on facebook) I asked the developer to fix an error found in the VC. As can be seen above in this thread or in the image below. The developer stated more than once that he would fix it in the next update. So, the new update came and no fix at all.

What i asked is not a "rivet-thing" correction or nothing big at all. Just an issue in the cockpit wich we can see outside thru in the VC, specially if you´re using TRackIR. As a consumer, I believe it is in my right to ask for this correction. It is not something specific to me, but for everyone who bought the addon.
Said that, i wont buy anything more from this developer as i think it´s a apropriate way to "protest".

Thanks for reading. :encouragement:

You're right, I forgot about it again. My apologies - it's incredibly easy to fix. Trouble is, it's completely and utterly invisible unless you go duck right down in the cockpit and go hunting for it, which nobody ever does and which I also pointed out in my last reply, so in my opinion it's entirely understandable that something like this gets missed. I don't doubt that if you start crawling about on your hands and knees searching for gaps, you'll find others in both my airplanes and those of other developers.

For all the other free updates though, you're welcome.

(Resists temptation to make snarky comment about the back side of the rudder pedals ;-) )

:biggrin-new:

Yeah, sometimes it takes all of my self-control not to get angry. I checked the fault this evening, in Virtual Reality no less. I had to crouch down in my seat until my head was where my stomach would be to see the gap. It's utterly ridiculous to single something like that out as a reason to blacklist a developer. I could understand it if I didn't bother with major updates or just abandoned users or something, but not this.

very funny!

Well, simple as it is, if i found it EASYLY, anybody can do too. If you cant understand that, whatever man. As i said above, i will not create a fuss about this (you´re creating), but sure i will register it here at soh for anybody can see it.
I already saw many topics here at SOH and other forums about model gaps and incorrections and ALL of them ended in corrections in the model. Not sure why my complaint is any different from them.

Anyway ... the thing is: there is an issue in the F15 VC, it was reported (5 months ago). It was not corrected even with acknowledge. Period. Move on.

You are making the fuss. If you were not, you would have used a PM and not a forum post. You are the only person to report this, and your own picture shows where you need to be just to see the tiny gap, a place nobody would be. I have no idea why you have decided to make such an issue of this, it's quite ridiculous.
