• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

the bookie, I have permision to upload and modify the virtual navy ships if you have those models of the ships you can send them to me. I can added with my pack of ships.

When I get home I will put a package together for you.I also have the Fast Carrier Raids if you want it.

I will be home July 7th.After I get home I will be back to work on The Yorktown and Hornet missions for Midway.It'll be a Yorktown package covering the Early Raids,Coral Sea and Midway.My plan for after that is Enterprise through 1942,43,44 and 45.All separate packages.

I may throw in the Beaufighters in NG for kdriver.

Any VN ships I have and use will released with either a mission pack or campaign I do.This is the deal Talon had with VN (which he was part of ) and I will honor and respect that deal.

I am off to a slow start but I'm going through the missions in MB one by one and though I haven't finished examining and flying mission 1 yet, I have some feedback: :applause:

I swapped out the stock Mahan Class DDs used in your set up for the actual ship types (Gleaves, Sims, Benham, Farragut and Mahan - all by stuart277). I could not find a Porter Class DD, so I left them as Mahans. I also found that the mission would not load the FDG2_SBD-3_Dauntless_CV5_Jun42 until I installed the fdg2_sbd_cfs2 pack, because your CV5 Dauntless is aliased to the SBD-5 in that package :banghead:

I know you'll want to keep the downloads list as simple as possible. I just threw in some more historical accuracy suggestions for your consideration with the ship types. You can probably eliminate the need to download and install the fdg2_sbd_cfs2 by aliasing your sbds' sounds to the stock sbd.??

As soon as I finish my "tailoring," I'll send the missions to you. I will try not to edit any events, triggers or mission briefings. It is your work, and I want it to remain so. :wiggle:Stand by for additional feedback...

My sounds are not alias to any other planes.I put in the sounds by Lawdog I think.It was years ago so forgot.You can also just put the stock sbd sounds into the sound folder

You had to change the ships in MB and that can effect the dyn of the mission so you will need to put in the ones I sent you.They are the original ones by Pen32Win,so all the events,triggers and briefings are his work.

There is a Porter class by Usio,it's here at SOH.

I did want to keep the d/l to as little as possible.

I have been away from the disscussion for a while. I have read the Osprey book "Midway 1942" about 4-5 times!
I never did load Penwin's AF Midway. IF you are going to make this available to us "users" , any number of missions would be to interest to me. The torpedo bombers were basically wiped out but the Dauntlesses got the revenge. Whatever you are doing would be great to share. There was a heck of a lot going on during that battle real time both those in action and those looking for action--

I have gone through all the original AF=Midway missions,there 9 from the USN side.Since I have the ones that were on Talon's computer there seems to be 11.Even after downloading the packages again these 2 extra missions are not in them.Seems Pen32Win sent them to Talon but never published them.The 2 of them were close when doing missions and even talked on the phone at times.In other words you'll be getting 2 missions for AF=Midway that never have been published before.

Found out these missions are in the Japanese part of the mission pack.

I have just finished the IJN side of the AF=Midway missions a total of 15 missions.I'm still working on a few of my own that will cover a few things not done in the original package,

Mission 12 will not load because of a "missing" SBD2_DAUNTLESS_CV6_Jun42 aircraft. The Aircraft 2 folder and the readme give us the FDG2_SBD-3_Dauntless_CV6_Jun42 instead. The mission now loads once the player aircraft and the unit_type.1 name entries on the mission file are hand edited to read: FDG2_SBD-3_Dauntless_CV6_Jun42. Everything else seems fine. :applause::applause::applause:

I have both planes and used SBD2 first and forgot to change after I found the SBD3 textures used at Midway.I will make sure I fix it.
