Not sure by what you mean by getting shot down. If it's my work than so be it. I'm not the best or most talented here but I did spend a good deal of time and effort into it especially the last panel which still needs a bit of touch up. My style is mainly artwork not necessarily recreating a real airplane. I enjoy adding a little country pride and detail to my work so any Japanese or American pilot would have been proud to jump in and defend their country in it. The Kate was a great airplane in it's day but like anything else it's gets outdated. Could we defend our airspace today with the P-51? I'm trying that's all I can do but no I can't make people like it if they don't.

well I cleaned the gun sights up and patched a hole or too so i'm done withe the panel and will now work om the sound folder. Eh not so fast Doc. You still haven't done anything to the VC yet and all those bells and whistles you added t0 the main panel will need to be done all over again. Ok folks I need to make a correction to the plans. After I finish a bowl of
Hasenpfeffer I will do the VC before moving to the sound section. Get back here with my Carrot cake rabbit. That's all folks see ya soon.​

My plan was to redo the Pearl Harbor Kates and maybe a few extras. Kelti redid a few of them but not all so it's mainly for the Overhaul B5Nt Kate but could be made to work for Thicko's Kate as well. I need to do a VC panel to match and that part is done. I haven't looked into Thicko's Kate to see how big a job it would be to make the VC match but likely it would pose a challenge since it uses a different panel to start with but the main panel still could be used regardless. This could be my best panel yet as i'm getting better at it and I've also updated some of my software as my biggest challenge was the transparency issues leaving black spots everywhere and holes in the panels themselves. I'm now able to fix that without killing myself in the process.
 
Looking at Thicko's VC Panel it doesn't look like it would be hard to make it look like my panel. The gunsight isn't on his VC panel so that could be a issue and likley the vc gauges would need to be moved to line up with his modal if I did re texture his vc.
 
Panel has been done. Actually everything is done except I'm putting together textures in folders. To make it easy I've redone the stock B5N2 Kate added the panel new sound to that. Now I'm adding new texture folders to that and adding a ton of new Kates by adding them to the stock cfg file that way way you just slap it in the aircraft folder once but you get a bunch of planes from that one stock Kate which isn't stock anymore but for the most part the texture is just modified to fit the Overhaul MDL The dp file works with both stock missions and the Pearl Harbor missions by Talon meaning the loadouts Bombs Heavy etc match so your carrying drop tanks or passengers instead of the loadout the missions call for. I'm adding the Pearl harbor kates as well as others. Some of the pearl harbor Kates need touch up texture work but I'll be done soon hopefully.

Gals ladies friends and foes horses or cat's whatever you may be wherever you may be I'm working on some kates. Whats taken so long. I'm not 70 yet collecting my check from the mailbox. Got two kids in middle school. Holding down a full time job. Plus I'm picky and like doing things I already did over again. Ideas don't always pop upon the first modding session so when they come you got to go back and add or leave it as is but I'm not lazy just crazy that's why the natives call me touched by the Sprites but that's a good thing I've still my scalp, my laptop top and every once in a harvest moon a little time to mod with it. Ya'll behave or be good at misbehaving whichever your talent takes you to being. I'm gonna close with a screen of the front of the stock kate. I replaced kelti's engine texture with the one like Thicko's Kate which looks better but not necessarily more realistic just more like showroom bright aluminum or something. Prop I modified one kelti made to be more similar to the brown stock prop but made for the silver props.

Bombs Repainted

Still building my Kate Collection I hope to upload later. Basically it's a mod to replace the stock Kate but gives you more than one single plane but a wide variety of Kate's including the ones used in the Pearl Harbor missions. I'm using the air file by Wells that Kelti used for some of his. I updated the engine for WEP. Kelti used The bombs from Thicko's Kate and Judy plus metal dreams 30 kg bombs. He also used the mounts and rail so in order to improve on that I repainted the bombs to look more Navy looking similar to Allen's bombs. I painted Metal Dreams bombs to match with Thicko's newly painted bombs. Looks nicer to me. I'm still thinking of stuff to do to make the mod better.
