HEUR virus warning?
Heuristic refers to a "preliminary detection" feature that can also detect unknown viruses. It involves a complex analysis of the affected code and scanning for virus-specific functions. If the analyzed code does meet such characteristics, it is reported as suspect.
This does not mean, however, that the code is a virus for sure; false positives may occur.
What is Heur APC?
HEUR/APC is a catch-all definition for “something that acts a little suspicious but hasn’t been flagged as a virus” It’s probably because of the ability to download newer versions of the client.
What is the Heur virus?
Heuristic virus is a nickname given to the malware Heur. Invader, a virus that can disable antivirus software, modify security settings, and install additional malicious software onto your computer. Some examples of heuristic viruses include adware and Trojans.
What does Heur Trojan do?
HEUR:Trojan-Downloader.[Platform].Generic
Objects covered by this classification are designed to download and install new versions of malicious programs to the victim computer. The [Platform] field may be either “Script” or “Win32.”
What is false positive virus?
False positive is falsely and positively identifying a virus, i.e., an instance of wrongly labeling a benign program as malicious program. False positive is considered as a drawback of a virus detection method. Minor weaknesses of any virus detection method can lead to false positives.
