Local Legend 15: Dornier Do 31

We need some old commuter liner paints for that as well. Such as Pan Am, Eastern, KLM, etc. Retro stuff, but able to get into those small airports and to the large hubs.
Repainting this one looks to be tricky ... this trivial change is the best I've done so far:

Interesting thought...doubt there will be a paintkit but hopefully possible to repaint the existing livery...wonder how many there are?

3 made, 2 still exist as far as I remember.
I visited #1 not too long ago in Friedrichshafen at the Dornier Museum.

Cheers

Picked it up, very cool model. Takes a bit of control setting up to get the throttle & nozzles to work correctly and the VTOL function takes a great deal of fineness to properly handle, especially the approach and landing phase.

Anyone use FSUIPC to set up the axis and get the Do31 to work correctly?
I only played with it for a few minutes but it did not work for me.

Cheers

Hi , try the switch right in front of you , between the red lamps , that will start the extra motors , then wail until they "spool up" , and they will help you get a very short takeoff ~ it´s not as good as the Harrier to do that but it works ~

Thanks, as is often the case, **** also helps. I figured with my vast experience with different Cessna, Beech and Piper Singles and Twins and thousands of hours with virtual Connie’s I could just wing this one.
Nope….since it’s a bit dumbed down to be flyable by a single pilot in a deskchair or even from a sofa holding an Xbox controller the AI assist must be used to fly VTOL.
That does limit the control a little, since the Do31 would typically fly a fairly normal takeoff including rolling start and then lifting engines.
But it is not a dealbreaker.
