Ok, thank you very much, Ralph ! Getting clearer now ! ;-)

Must say i am more than a bit reluctant to go ahead with that, Ralph. Apart from this MP problem i have atm and the AT5 freezing up MSFS, my MSFS runs very well and that's the most important, no problems otherwise. I start to shake and shiver a little bit when i see that " Xbox Identity Provider "... Brrrrrr.. You don't wanna know how difficult it proved to be for me to even get a Microsoft account after MSFS was released 4 years ago. Took me a day or two i can tell you. (the thing that surprised me most was "You can't get an MS account using an email address from school or work !". PFFffffffff...Hallo there !! School or work !!!!???? I am retired for a couple years already !!!! :devilish: :poop:  :ROFLMAO: )

It was so rediculous i still remember that after 4 years ! ;-) Somebody should make MS aware some time that it's not only teennies and twennies they provide entertainment for. Anyway, Ralph, i have never needed to use anything Xbox related to have my MSFS running smoothly most of the time so i don't want to risk that by messing about with any xbox identities or stuff like that. I have to say i have never ever felt the slightest urge to know anything about that Xbox thingamabob. I have always been head over heels in love with my precious PC's for about 40 years now and love to keep it that way. In short, no Xbox exercises or gymnastics for me, my friend.. ;)

No matter that, thank you very much for trying to help me out of this Marketplace vault, mate. I can always wait for MSFS2024. ;-))

javis contact MS support - https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=13165886838812 - and tell them (with images) whats going on and they'll manually sort it. I had the exact same issue, seems it a known bug when using steam that sometimes purchases dont go through, the fix, add the money to the steam wallet first and then click the buy now on the marketplace.

They'll want the following to

Your ticket must include the following information:

The reference (name & developer) of the DLC you tried to purchase

There is over a thousand DLC for sale in the marketplace. Several 3rd parties developed the same airports or aircraft. In order to investigate we need the name of the item and the name of the developers.

Your gamertag
Your gamertag is the name that appears in the top right corner of the sim when you're playing. Without this information, we cannot find your account. The system is case-sensitive, do not forget symbols such as # and numbers (Example: Bob#1234)

Your Platform
Don't forget to include your current platform, especially if you own the sim on several platforms (Steam and Xbox for instance). Troubleshooting steps may vary depending on your version of the sim.

A copy of your proof of purchase (Steam Wallet Receipt, Bank statement, Xbox Store Receipt, etc...)
We do not have access to either the Microsoft or Steam Account & Billing systems to see the details of the transaction.

The Transaction ID or Order number of the original and duplicate purchase(s)
If you were charged multiple times for the same purchase, we'll need to communicate this information to Steam Support or Microsoft Support.

Hello Javis, I am not very used to buying in the marketplace, but the other day I spent almost 2 hours because the same message appeared, the problem was that I was accessing my sim through the icon created on my PC, (I am not Steam user), after 2 hours I decided to access my sim through the Xbox application and thus I was able to make my purchase without problems, greetings

Javis, this is the Xbox app:

If you're on Win 11 or your Win 10 is up to date, you likely already have it installed and just haven't started it.

It's (1) harmless and won't negatively affect sim or system performance in any way, and (2) pretty critical for any Microsoft-published games on your PC. I actually worked on some aspects of it many years ago, and I can attest it's actually a good thing. :) The idea behind it is to get the gaming support content in Windows all in one place that's controlled by the game studio in the company, versus the windows/store teams in the company which have different priorities.

TL;DR: Download and install it, sign in to it using the same account you use for MSFS, and try launching MSFS from inside it.

@Jan, wat the last 2 post say,is exact wat i found wat help me to get even the sim run again sometimes.......
i also not a fan for this apps......but i can not use the sim without......

Cheers Ralf

Ok, however against my principle, i'll give in... ;-) Yes, i'm still on W10 but it seems i DO have that Xbox app. Already registered too with my MSFS nickname but since i didn't buy MSFS from the MS store but from Steam there's nothing MSFS in 'My Library' or 'Game Pass' to click on of course. I can only *buy* MSFS from this Xbox app....

With recommendations from the banjoman, Pere and you now too i think it might be interesting to see what happens if i start MSFS via this Xbox app. Afraid i *do* need assistance with how to get that done... Ralph, Pere and i suppose you also don't use the MSFS Steam version so is it überhaupt possible to use the Xbox app to load the MSFS Steam version ??..... (remember i *NEVER* needed anything Xbox to run my MSFS in the (almost) passed 4 years and without any significant problems i might add..)

Thanks guys ! (y)

The MSFS 'Steam version' is only the online store you bought it from - Steam. Everything else is Xbox Studios and Asobo Studios, in that order.
In the Xbox App, below your nickname in the top left corner, you should see My Library is listed below Game Pass. Click on My Library and you'll see an MSFS icon with an "Installed" label and tick. Click on that one to launch the sim.
You might also see "Most Recent" below your nickname, with an MSFS icon there too. Click on that one and MSFS will launch from there.
The most important use for the Xbox app is the repair Gaming Services utility, for when MSFS gets stuck on the checking for updates screen and other failures to launch:
Launch the Xbox app for PC.
Click your Profile picture.
Click on Support.
Click on Gaming Services Repair Tool.
Click on Start repairing.
This takes about 30 seconds on my PC, it's a lot faster than a re-install!

this is wat i do not know, but there must be one how know or is on steam and can tell you,or have the same trouble you get and have it fix?
and i am also on W10,my old pc can not upgrade to 11.

guys, you don't need the xbox app if you brought the steam version. The xbox app is a store front and launcher just like steam is. Going that route will do absolutely nothing except waste time as the steam version isn't connected to it in any way. Yes the steam game requires a MS account but that's it. The answer is as i posted, contact zendesk, provide the information, and they'll manually fix it. The issue is a well known bug with the steam version and how it handles transactions.

The Xbox app also maintains some of the Microsoft gaming files that are used by MSFS. So you don't need it to launch MSFS (and it might not launch the Steam version at all), but having it up-to-date can solve some problems with app and marketplace issues.

Another thing to do is open the Microsoft Store app, click the Library section in the lower left, click Get Updates, and then click Update All. That will ensure all the Gaming Services files are up-to-date.

And for the love of the Gods, y'all buy FS2024 direct from MS and don't go through Steam. I have hundreds of games in my Steam library, but Steam just adds another layer of complexity and a whole second set of potential failure points to MSFS marketplace purchases so I would never buy a Microsoft game through them.

Thanks Noddy, no i don't use the Xbox app, i got my MSFS from Steam. I'd almost say never a problem... Atleast never ever have had a problem with Marketplace, i bought every man and his dog from there. About a week ago i bought a DC-3 liveries bundle for $1.99, up popped the " Purchase in Progress " message and it never went away and i didn't get the liveries neither.... I hope i can get some help via a marketplace support email i sent today to msfsim@microsoft.com
Haven't purchased off Marketplace for awhile, but I vaguely recall that I had to start MSFS [to get to the Marketplace], start it NOT as the Administrator. ie, left mouse click on the MSFS icon. If I started MSFS 'As Administrator", [right mouse click for drop down menu], then the purchase would bail out after the item went in the basket, couldn't complete it. Not sure why this was happening, but opening MSFS as a mouse left click allowed me to undertake a full purchase. I read somewhere it may have had something to do with entering the payment side of things, not sure.

Always remember to have the Steam overlay active when buying from the Marketplace in the Steam version of MSFS.
