C-130

I am looking at the C-130E from captain sim (I know, I know! ) and was wondering if they ever got the repaint situation changed.
I see many exterior repaints available but few if any for the complete aircraft. Are the exterior ones usable with the full aircraft?

Most people only re-paint the exterior as the interior rarely changes. I have no idea how re-paints are handled in FS2020 as I have never owned/used it but it's easy to add re-paints in the older sims like FSX and P3D. In those sims the shared textures used by all the variants live in a common texture folder and the re-paint specific textures (usually just the external ones) have their own individual texture folder. The sim loads the variant texture(s) first and then looks in the common texture folder for any missing textures.

CS being CS they released the exterior only version for MSFS well before the complete aircraft, then they released the full version with one exterior paint and left it up to you to buy repaint packs. I heard they eventually allowed freeware repaints but that is meaningless if no one has done any. There are repaints for the exterior version but I don't know if they can be used for the full version

Look on flightsim.to. There's been quite a few C-130E repaints done!

My point is they all say C-130 exterior , My question is will they work with the later cockpit included version
They will. I've got the -E, -H and -J (the latter is a total sham, it has the -H cockpit) and all will accept repaints

I've downloaded a a few repaints for the full aircraft from Flightsim.to and the work fine. IIRC, there is a mod that you can get to allow them to show up that is explained in the repaint file text.

Thanks.
It is on sale for 15 buck so I guess I will pull the trigger
Flying it from the FS9 days and that was the only reason to finally purchase it, although I still didn't feel right supporting a developer with history. Now that the repaints fit, it looks good enough at that price point in sim. Surprised some of the functionality didn't completely transfer over from FS9/X/P3D on the flightdeck and would've been nice to get the KC version. Flies good enough as well, could and I hope the FM will get tweaked along with sounds.

Soundset is supposedly being worked on by Echo 19 currently and coming soon. If thats the case I'm sure it will sound amazing.

I was thinking about what a long history Captain sim has with not being self aware. Back when the much anticipated C-130 was released for FS9 they charged 130 dollars. Get it? the C-130 is 130!

The CS C-130J has the same Cockpit as their H? If so I am not getting it. I have their H and did not get the E as the cockpit was basically the same. Unless the J has more modern avionics than their H version I don't see any point

Maybe we'll get the glass cockpit in a future update, but not at all convinced of that!
