The fuselage was really narrow but the full size aircraft was quit big when you see some rare photos with people with the plane
or if you look the tech datas.
Would be really nice if possible also for fs 2004. But I know especially for the flight dynamics it can quickle turn into a horror to convert.

for the engines it would be interesting to look on the He 177 as this one used the same engines

Shessi once published a Heinkel He 177 with the 2D panel from me with the special gauges for the double engines.
One half could be stopped during flight and restarted. The sence was that when half of the fuel has been used, the plane was
less heavy and for cruising needed less power. The gearbox to couple the two engines was realy complex. I did not figure out this possibility
on the He 177

The Heinkel He 177 story is quiet sad and showed how confusing things went on at the RLM (Reich ;iuftfart Ministerium.
The luft wafe wanted at a time also a long range bomber. But seen the experiance with the Junkers Ju 87 StuKa, they wanted also the big bomber to be able to make dive bombing.
The reason behind is simple. With one dive bomber and a precise bomb droping you will destroy much better than by droping from high altitude.
But a four engine bomber to make diving is nearly impossible. So the regrouped the four engines to two pairs of double engines driving each pair one propeller via a gearbox.. Sadly even the idea was not as bad it caused a lot of problems. Heinkel did some errors when desgning the engine installation which caused constant overheating and than engine fires. On the last He 177 the engine installation has done better and the plane got
more releiable - but too late for the Luftwaffe. Even what must taken in thought that in reality germany did not have the needed resources for the mass poduction of such a plane.
Certainly interesting plane but too late too few one error more a cost intensive error.

On the Me 261 the idea behind coupling two engines to a block was to reduce aerodynamic resistance.
This was in fact a partial error because what was won on one side was lost be the big radiators this engines needed
All this problematic is vey well described in a book about the Junkers Ju 288 "Bomber B Programm" - sorry only in german.
But for driving big programms you need not only qualified engineers but also pragmatic leaders to guide - that in this time in germany was not the case.

And of course for FS2004.
there was once a project to make one for FS2004.
I did the 2D panel for it but the project did not came to the end and all what I had about has been lost.
