JPLogistics/WBSim Cessna 152 ?

Stearman

SOH-CM-2023
Hi, just a question about the JPLogistics/WBSim Cessna 152:
I've been using v2.0.6 of this aircraft for a long time (a favorite of mine in fact), but only recently I have learnt they updated it at the beginning of this year, current official version being 2.1.2.
Problem is they seemingly changed the file structure, so all previous 3rd party liveries created for it don't work anymore.
In their Discord forum they have included instructions for manually updating those liveries, but at 1st sight, that's not an easy task (to me anyway).
That given, I'd much appreciate if someone could detail what changes include the mentioned aircraft update, in order to decide if I go for it or not. Again in Discord, I don't find much explanation, other than "they've changed a lot of variables".
Any info greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Interesting because user of this C152 and despite consulting Discord daily, I hadn’t seen the information.

I just downloaded this version to see what it is: the documentation is limited to a single text file describing the variables used for those who have specific hardware: home cockpit.
A priori, they modularised the XML files by grouping them and reviewed a large number of variables to make the names used more homogeneous.

On their Discord, from what I understand there is no information to adapt the liveries: it’s left to the initiative of each person so no howto.

[EDIT] In fact, if you can go on Discord, all the informations that you find are in a separete saloon: # how-to-convert-a-livery just below the one where they give the links to their google drive:

You loved it as it was. So if I were you, i wouldn't change a thing.
This updating is going totally outof control for the last 4 years.

OK, thought so. At any rate, thank so much for your interest & explanations.

BTW I've read you somewhere else saying you intend to keep active yet for some years, in spite of GAS closing, even in the freeware arena.
Rest assured I'll keep an eye on anything you may come out with. Thanks once again :)
