Decisions, decisions!?

I am reminded of the dilemma faced by 'Posh' Spice in this clip when trying to decide whether to wear the little Gucci dress, the little Gucci dress OR the little Gucci dress!

I am sitting here contemplating what I might fly in the upcoming HeliFest 2 helicopter challenge and can't decide between the little yellow helicopter, the little yellow helicopter, OR the little yellow helicopter!

These are my choices:

EC135.png
CH-46.png
AW365.png
AW101_Merlin.png

These are the things to consider bearing in mind I haven't flown choppers in a dog's age and I am rusty!:

1. S-55/Whirlwind - Pros: Stable, easy to fly | Cons: Slow
2. EC135 - Pros: Stable in the air, easy to fly | Cons: Tippy on landing with the skids if you get caught in a cross-wind
3. CH-46 Sea Knight/Labrador - Pros: Stable on the ground and in the air | Cons: VC looking old and low-res
4. AW365 Dauphin - Pros: Nice VC, easy to fly | Cons: Suspension is very soft and tippy, prone to rolling over in a rough landing on rough ground
5. AW101/Merlin - Pros: Nice VC, super stable, fast, easy to fly | Cons: She's somewhat large for small helipads and is a bit like a 400lb woman in spandex jogging pants, there's bit's hanging over, everywhere you look!

“Nothing is more difficult, and therefore more precious, than to be able to decide.” – Napoleon Bonaparte

So many choices, so little time!

Great choices!!!
I'd venture to say you can guess which I'd choose of those, even if they were called something else in that livery.

The double weed whacker?
I was tempted to fly a Phrog.... maybe I should?
Tako can fly the yellow Labrador and I could make a custom HF2 livery for a CH-46.
Depends on how much time I can find to punch out a new paint.
Perhaps similar to the gold/white Bell-206 I flew last year's HeliFest.

I think I got the gold right now.
This is Vegas Gold.
I'll have to do a gold/white scheme every year for HeliFest.
And of course the crew is wearing white shirts and ties with their flight suits. 👔

Nice Dick! (ooo err can I say that on here)!

I've been busy making up pop-up panels in the hope that I can remember how to do IFR flying after years of just following a magenta line! I'm not even sure I'm going to be ready for this years event as I rely too heavily on GPS and AP these days.

This is what I have so far and I hope I haven't missed a gauge anywhere, I think I can navigate with this set-up!

Did I miss anything?

Nicely done. I need to learn panel building. One of these years.
I'm rusty as I haven't done any serious panel building in years but I use a combination of FS Panel Studio to do the initial rough layout and then I manually edit the panel.cfg file to replace specific gauges and/or tweak the placement of the gauges on the panel as required.

One nav gauge that I only remember seeing on a DC-5 panel in FS9 (I think) was and actual ADF with a crank to rotate the antenna.
You tunes a BFO (beat frequency oscillator) and you listed for the null (least/no tone). Then the ADF needle was pointing at the station.
We had these in some of the CH-46's.
Similar to this but with an actual crank handle in place of the tuning knob.
Any idea if any FSX aircraft has this?

If there was one in FSX I am thinking it would be in a prop-liner of some sort. Maybe something from CalClassics perhaps or one of Manfred Jahn's beauties? I don't remember Milton putting a radio like that in any of his birds either.
