BF109 Update problem

The BF109 Flyingirons 1.0.3 update issued recently is not working for me.

When starting at the end of a runway the plane sputters and increasing throttle to the max never gives enough speed to liftoff.
Eventually the engine slows, the plane comes to a halt and the engine dies. Fuel is at 27%.
Anyone else having this problem ?
 
Not with this plane and not in 2024, but I have exactly the same issue with the latest iteration of the Spitfire in 2020.

I'll have to go over the controller assignments later on.

Have you checked to make sure the plugs are clean? There's a control on the left of the cockpit near the mag switches which you can pull, it'll retard the spark and burn any crap off the spark plugs.

That was the problem. Needed to clear 70% dirty plugs. Was surprised a refurbished plane from Flyingirons was in such a condition. ;)

Caution in the use of the Flyingiron BF109. It caused MS2024 to CTD for me.

Beside the CTD problem I found it impossible to takeoff successfully. The plane incorporates the feature of accumulating failures which compounded my problem, so I cancelled it. Also eliminated the P-factor and torque. The plane still pulled heavily to the left and while I was able to keep the plane on the runway for a while upon lifting off the ground the plane rotated left and the gear appeared to have collapsed. The plane tumbled to the ground and spun there furiously. Having a stick controller did not help. Still the BF109 works for me only when starting a flight in the air and while landing.
 
I don’t have the FI Bf-109 so this is simply based on the information I have from the real aircrafts evaluation records at Rechlin and later reports by frontline pilots who flew the type.
Especially the later models with increased engine power were extremely tricky apparently during the initial takeoff run. The rudder is pretty much blanked out in the tail low attitude, the gear is obviously quite narrow tracked and was not very strong on side loads.
Basically the trick is to accelerate gradually, within the capability of the rudder to keep a straight line until you can lift the tail, and in that rotation you again have to be very conscious of the rudder effectiveness changing and the P-factor as well changing as the aircraft rotates.
Definitely not an easy aircraft to get into the air, as many Finnish pilots learned the hard way, dying from crashes was almost as deadly for them as fighting against the Russian airforce.
Seeing as how FI included such technical difficulties as fouled plugs, I would give them credit to have crafted a fairly accurate FD, as much as that is possible for people who have never flown one.
But I think we created a fairly decent FD setup for the Connies back in FS9/FSX days, and nobody in the team had ever flown one personally😉
