Can't think of a better to ask this . Is there not anyone out there interested on producing a real good DC`3 ? I'm talking a good one, high quality like maybe A2A . Even the quality of the one Manfred Jahn's I'd be more then happy with and one you can incorporate a GTN 750 in like all the modern aircraft we fly -the Dukes, a2a etc.. Some thing you open and close the cowl flaps and can see a difference in temp as an example. Manfred Jahn from what i see is retired and made it clear he isn't giving anyone permission to use his work .PMDG own one in real life and were thinking of putting one out but changed there minds . I'm in the latest update SU4 from couple days ago, it's ok but sire not the quality of what's out there but maybe I'm missing some thing and not aware there is something better ,,,Thanks Louis cyyc

PMDG sold their DC-3 some time ago, so I read. I was pleased to see her at Duxford a few years ago.

The stock DC-3 in MSFS2024 is nice with the Duckworks improvement mod, which works in both FS20 and FS24.

Well Paul, you pretty well answered my question cause that's what I'm using so ill make due -the Duckworks 2024 ---Thanks Louis cyyc

Toothpick refers to the thinner Hamilton Standard blades typically used on the DC-3 passenger variants. The C-47 military versions used wider paddle blade props. Toothpicks were more efficient.

As far as I know Manfred has granted permission to a very select few, probably as long as they promise not to charge for their products.
Since he never aimed at making profits from his work for FS, I believe this is fair.
The default airplane with the Duckworks mod, in my opinion at least, is pretty darned close to a good modern DC3.

Mafred's DC3 is one of the best pieces of work ever done in flight simulation. I doubt we'll see another gem like it for a very, very long time. His DC3 cockpit is simply a masterpiece compared to what we have today.

Errr, the old style FSX cockpit was made by our very own Jan Visser, a.k.a. Javis. But thanks for the nice words anyway!

I wish Jan could be persuaded to do a flightdeck for your fabulous B-50, Manfred. I absolutely loved that perfect model, and it's one of the great 'lost' aircraft of flight simulation.

Come on, Jan, what about it ? Should only take you a week or two ;):ROFLMAO:

Sorry to go off topic ( well...not really! )

Is that Manfred's magnificent FSX/P3D Superfortress in MSFS24, Paul ??.... Wow! Just a minute... Let me find a Blender & PBR painting tutorial...

Well, actually that's true but i'm afraid the first slot is already taken by Mike's equally wonderful DC-4... Didier (Lagaffe) and me have taken up the not that unchallenging adventure of delivering a native MSFS20/24 model of Mike's masterful Skymaster. (it looks like i'm following a path: DC-3, DC-4,... ;-)

Big 4 props fan so Manfred's B-50 is deffinately on the list but if it will ever come to that only Icarus knows... ( Manfred's C-47 still winking and blinking at me as well and don't even speak about his superb Connie series.... )

We'll see, Paul, getting the grips on this truly amazing PBR texturing experience and that's a daunting adventure in itself so wish me luck and take a seat.

Yes, Manfred's magnificent B-50. There was a flood of great aircraft just before I lost interest in FSX/P3D - this one, Flight Replica's Halifax/Halton and B-24, so I didn't get to fly them much, though I was a beta tester for the Halifax. MSFS2020 completely revived my love of simming, but so many great aeroplanes have been left behind. Thank goodness for all the work being done to resurrect the B-24 and DC-4 - it is hugely appreciated. I just hope one day we see the B-50 back in the air, too. If and when, Jan... ;)
