I spent much of the weekend flying the Hunter on patrols in and around Jordan, as I had mentioned. I had a real hankering for piston engines when I woke up this morning. I took a P-38/F-5 photo-reconnaissance model from Moran in the CBI to snap some photos of "Japanese positions" over Burma. I flew the low hump to the east of Assam to land at Shingbwiyang.

Inspired by seeing a couple of these Sai-Marchetti SF205 aircraft at the Royal International Air Tattoo a couple of years ago I bought the Nemeth Designs version for 2020. Here it carries a special paint scheme to mark the 100th Anniversary of the "Raid Roma-Tokyo". This was a historic flight made in 1920 by the Italian aviators Arturo Ferrarin and Guido Masiero. They completed the trip of 8000 km in 109 hours in an Ansaldo SVA bi-plane. The flight included stops in Greece, Syria, India, Burma, Thailand, Viet Nam, China and Korea. Their aircraft was donated to the Japanese Imperial War Museum where it was exhibited until the museum was destroyed during World War II.

Snagged the Cowansim S-76 on sale in the Marketplace today for 50% off.
What an absolute joy this spinnywing is. Flies beautifully, great systems depth, excellent autopilot (ILS approaches in a helicopter, who'd have thought?), just amazing all around. Well worth the $21 Canadian I paid.
@Momo81 Drop this into your FS2020's Community folder. You won't have to deal with that handlebar popping up ever time you move your mouse. The toolbar still works normally.

Just did some piddlin' around out of EGAT - 1940's Tangmere. It's one of my virtual "home bases" in MSFS. Started off with half an hour in a Training Command Hawker Fury and then did some local sightseeing in the Moth Minor. I found a lovely manor on the coast to the southeast of Tangmere and parked her there for the night.

More flying out of 1940's Tangmere (EGAT) tonight, after work. Sticking with Training Command, but slid on into the Avro Anson for a nice thirty to thirty-five minute flight to RAF Frison (EGYI). Friston is another kickass freeware scenery package over on Flightsim.to. It's chock-full of WWII-vintage RAF and USAAF static aircraft parked about, two matston mat runways, vehicles, and quonset huts. Friston is roughly 40 nautical miles to the east, directly down the coast, from Tangmere - an easy hop. Both airfields were part of RAF 11 Group.
I hadn't flown the Ansion much since downloading and installing her a few months ago. What a lovely little ship. Excellent quality for freeware. I know of a few payware outfits, not naming names, that would charge out the rear for something like that. Nice to have a twin-engine runabout, a fixed pitch prop, and little to fuss with if you just want to take off and dick around for an hour or two. Cheers!
