Complete reset every time I load up

Title says it all really, out of the blue my install has bricked itself.
Every single time I launch the sim it has completely reset itself as if it were a fresh install.
Anyone been through this or similar? Tried a search but most of the results I can find are 2024 specific.

I've been thinking of switching to 2024 anyway so this might just be the nudge to force my hand as I'm obviously not going to jump through all of Microflops hoops and rebuild my controls every time I want to fly a few circuits.
 
Not completely, but my control assignments do. It's effing annoying.

And I'm not moving over to 2024 anytime soon. Controller wise, it's worse.
 
I have MSFS 2020, and that periodically happens, as recently as last week. Resetting the Microsoft Store app has worked for me:

  1. On your keyboard, press the “Win Logo” + “R” keys (Win+R)
  2. Type: WSReset.exe and press Enter
  3. A black window will pop up
  4. Wait until the pop-up window disappears and the Store comes up
  5. Reboot your computer
When I use this method, all of my MSFS 2020 settings are retained, and the program loads normally.

I owe you a beer, just tried this and it booted up normally.
