Aircraft shown in 1988 movie "Pancho Barnes"

Does anyone recognize this aircraft shown in the movie?

Possibly a Stearman with an aftermarket engine cowling and enclosed rear cockpit.
"Pancho" was a highly respected stunt pilot and bar owner - Chuck Yeager thought she had 'the right stuff' - enough said.

I believe the plane to be a WACO biplane type. I refer to the landing gear that shows the big main leg and aditional struts in front and behind as these ones:

I agree Michael, the tail fin shape is also more Waco than Stearman. It could be a Waco UPF-7:

Thanks four yur replies. Tiger would right, I meanwhile found the Waco Tapperwing, which might be close to the searched aircraft. Here another shot:

Thank you for the acknowlegement, but Michael identified it first - thank you Michael. This second one appears to have a Piper Cub engine and paint job - maybe a one-off homebuilt?
