FS2004 Screenshots Here!!!

Good looking plane.

Things were getting too good and I figured it was time to get humble again.

I love the Bell 412 and (just once) I wanted to check out that Hovercontrol FD.
Back in the day, I wrenched on this package in FS2002 to get it working (most of the time) by grafting in some older Huey dynamics.

I did manage to get it in the air after this screen shot.
It still needs work, I haven't figured out how to turn the radios on but its better than just sitting on the ground.

Did anyone do a repaint in USMC gray?

To quote a line from Field Of Dreams,
"If you $@&* with something long enough, it will take off."

I still need to fix a battery problem and install better radios, but that part is easy.

Wow, great shot! Where can I obtain this lovely bird? Great lighting too, do you use sweetfx?

Thanks! The Saab 2000 is by BSMP, and you can get it from here. And on top of a bunch of other addons I use to make my FS9 look great, I do use SweetFX. Here's a doc that explains how I made it look on par with much more modern sims, and all for COMPLETELY FREE (also attached as a PDF).

Meanwhile, my WESTPAC during "Operation Whatever It Is This Week" continues.
I'm trying to stay Legit with minimal real-world news and factoring in my experience from back in the days when I wore the funny hat.
Never mind I'm flying a C model Hornet, I have the KBT E model but it still needs some tweaking and massaging. I also have an F-35C but it REALLY needs a repaint and some more tweaking.

Here, I'm working the Iranian boarder on the Gulf near Pakistan.
Sorry about the clouds, I like 60 FPS more than eye candy BUT that may be changing soon.
I pulled the trigger on an RTX 3060 that's showing up today.

I'm also doing all of my flights using FSRealWX for real-time weather which keeps things interesting. While I'm REALLY getting tired of seeing "CAVOK" in the weather reports, the fog keeps you on your toes when you're on final with the hook down.

As reaction to a thread in MSFS2020/2024 board about GAS Stearman, here what I posted 2020 in CalClassic forum:

Barnstormers performed a variety of stunts. One of these was wingwalking. This here is just done as static object. Strange that nobody created such a flyable aircaft. Could be amazing!

So now it seems to have been done! Unfortunarely not for FS9.

Breaking in the new toy* and showing off a little.

FS9 at 1920X1080 rez with full volumetric clouds.
Notice the frame rate, I did.
The aircraft is a Safire biz jet from an Abacus collection I found on EBay.
This is also a mostly-stock FS9 install on my new(er) i5 machine. I'm running the new GPU* and testing temps and loads.

*- MSI Ventus RTX-3050 (low wattage, small-ish footprint). I found it on AMZ after a long search for something like $200.

Nice.

Yep! BSMP freeware.

Nice looking aircraft.

Due to the shape of the nacelles, I always thought the Saab 2000 was designed for FS98.

Some people thought my screenshots were from more modern sims, such as X-Plane and P3D; this screenshot is intentionally uncropped to clear any doubts.

Another overcast day near Karachi (AC10).

Warlord 701 touching down at the end of flight ops.
I've kept the "labels" on for obvious reasons.
I'm parked up next to the island, the E-2's nose is outboard meaning they already landed.
Lo Viz keeps you sharp but it does get monotonous (FSRealWX providing real-time weather).
