Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Antonov AN-2 Updated for FS2024

I flew a bit, the "new" (it's already an almost new version with all the upgrades), of the (already) excellent Antonov 2 for FS2024.

Developer, did a wonderfull job. More variants, more liverys, new fx, it's great to see Microsoft upgrade his own aircrafts, with this kind of detail.

Hope, they will the same with others remain aircrafts of the Aviation FS2024 version, (they already upgraded severals)

They've said their plan is to upgrade all of the "famous flyer" and "local legend" aircraft eventually. My two biggest wants are the V35 Bonanza and the Beechcraft 18.

Speaking of the great An2 Colt upgrades, I hope someone will do an English-translated cockpit like I had in 2020. My old brain has a hard time remembering which switches are which (and the pop-up tooltips break the immersion for me, so I have them turned off).

Someone already did this for 2024, thankfully. File on .to:

For some reason, I tried that English addon for the AN-2 and it killed the internal engine sounds. Disabled it and the sounds returned. Does anyone else experience this?

I haven't installed the actual mod since I don't fly the default liveries at all (I just used the texture files in my own custom liveries by copy/pasting them into a texture.interior file inside the liveries). It works great that way. Probably not helpful, I know, but if you're using a non-default livery you could do the same.

Even so, I can't think how the mod (which contains only textures) would eliminate the engine sounds. Something to do with putting them into the attachments folder perhaps?

I love all the new variants. I admire the pilots who used this beast for crop dusting and top dressing. It's not what anyone would call "agile" with a full tank of liquid, so you definitely have to plan ahead (and I'm pretty sure I saw cows walking faster than I was flying); but she's great fun!
