Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

So many new planes today! IL-18D, Jodel, Flying Flea, Rafale, helicopters...

It's a bad week for the wallet. I still haven't even bought the Black Square Rockwell Commander 114, and now this:

Bought the Spitfire yesterday, and I've been testing the Jodel D.92 and FS24-native Flying Flea and can highly recommend both. The Flea is great if you like quirky/weird planes that fly differently than the rest of your hangar, and it's pretty amazing in VR. The Jodel is wonderful with seemingly every variant ever thought of, and it's a great plane for low-and-slow local sightseeing. (And also another one that feels very "you are there" in VR.")

Really curious about the IL-18D. A Soviet-era propliner is enticing, but nearly $40 and the mixed reviews I've seen on Nemeth products means I'll hold off for others' opinions.

Whatever you think about the Marketplace decision, my wallet is okay with the Got Friends Taylorcraft delay.

Denny, from screen shots I've seen the PBR looks "lite" on the surfaces. Are their pronounced rivets and panels on the Spit?

I'd pull the IL18 trigger. But a certain A220 and FSS E-Jets got my CC lol. its marked to the wish list in a hold pattern.

Maybe it is age or the complexity of many modern airplanes, but I have cut back on buying new airplanes. I still have three or four that I have bought and never flown. The way I look at it is this, in the real world very few people fly more than two or three airplanes. So, I am trying to put together a stable of five or six aircraft from different genres or types.

I have settled on the GAS Sterman 75 for low and slow, Van's RV-8 is my fun knock around airplane. The Cessna C-210N is my everyday X-country bird. If I want to go further and faster I have the PC-12 (which is the airplane I would own, if I still had a valid medical and a reason to use it),

The next step up is a busjet. I am still deciding on what I want to learn and fly. I bought the Citation X (one of the airplanes I bought but have never used) and I saw that I have the PC-24. I don't know if it is the old Iris version or something else I bought and don't remember. Still, I haven gotten checked out in either jet.

Lastly, like Jared Isaacman, I fly the T-38 when I want to suck O2 from a mask and go fast.

Most of my hobby money goes toward trying to create the perfect flight sim cockpit.

I'd pull the IL18 trigger.
I was about to buy it last night until I checked the microsoft forum, people are sayings its a hot mess at present. Visually it looks amazing but internally it seems all over the place. Considering the hefty price tag I think I will wait a bit and see.

I wonder if Craig will allow purchasers of the MSFS2020/2024 version of his Flying Flea, the free upgrade to FS2024, as he did with his other aircraft? Nothing has appeared in my Justflight account at present.... Apparently he is away on holiday for a week. Hopefully he will allow the Jodel to be sold through vendors where consumer rights are acknowledged and respected, not ignored or sought to be avoided.
