flightsim.to virus anybody?

The last few times I have gone onto flightsim.to I have received a pop-up showing a fake McAfee safety warning, followed by something from "daring-woods-tone-pathway.lol". Then another pop up displays saying "click here to scan" (I don't of course!). I do not see this coming up with any other website (I only go on flight sim sites on this computer). And, on my older computer (still running windows 7 for goodness sake), flightsim.to comes up just fine. Anyone else seeing this thing? Trying to figure out if flightsim.to is compromised, or if my flight sim computer is.

Maybe it's not McAfee but more like a fake advertisement popup from the website that displays a scam ?

It's a fake Spam ad saying your MacAfee is out of date. I've gotten it a couple of times in the last week or so. I know it's fake since I don't have MacAfee installed...

Give a try to the browser named "Brave". You can get it from the Google Play Store. I just tried going to flightsim.to using that browser on my android phone, and I didn't have a single popup or ad :)
I use it on my PC but never tried it on a mobile.

Same for me until very recently (a few week ago in fact). Chrome has all my bookmarked websites which I couldn't import in Brave...

However, a few weeks ago, I learned that this operation had to be done from the PC versions of these navigators. On the PC, Brave has an option to "import all bookmarks and settings" from Chrome. So I did that, and suddenly all my bookmarks became available in Brave on the telephone. Then I'm using Brave to navigate the internet on my phone since then. It's a life changer, to be honest. Especially when browsing the various news websites which are absolutely full of ads and uncontrollable popups, which are all gone now :)

Use Avira free instead , i had it for 15 years ~ and it don´t do such things ~ and those popup´s is often scams .

Hi,

This seems not to be a virus, yet a "abuse" of the notification function of your Browers (Chrome?).
Just restore all settings of your brower will do the trick, on just look in the settings, which sites are allowed to send window notifcations.

Thank you, all of you, for your input. I have stayed off Flightsim.to for a few days now, so I shall read all your posts and decide on a course of action.
