Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

IM Scenery - RAF Marham

noddy

SOH-CM-2026
Released a couple days ago and found on Contrail and the Marketplace.

Another top notch UK military base by IM Scenery for one of the RAFs main operating bases.

Marham (IATA: KNF, ICAO: EGYM) is a Royal Air Force station near the village of Marham in the county of Norfolk, East Anglia, south of King's Lynn and Boston, and west of Norwich.

It is home to No. 138 Expeditionary Air Wing (138 EAW) and, as such, is one of the RAF's 'main operating bases'. Since 6 June 2018, it has been home to the fifth generation Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning operated by No. 617 Squadron. No. 207 Squadron became the second Lightning squadron based at RAF Marham when it reformed on 1 August 2019 as the F-35 operational conversion unit (OCU).

The scenery features:

  • Full custom objects with photoreal textures
  • Animated gates in the F-35 complex and animated HAS doors in both HAS sites
  • All objects include PBR textures
  • Full night lighting including custom taxi lights using the airport lighting system features in the SDK
  • Full custom ground poly
  • Custom terrain which allows for accurate slopes on runways and taxiways
  • Static F-35B Lightnings of 617 and 207 Squadron
  • Static Canberra PR9 and Tornado GR4 gate guards
The static F-35s only appear on the ramps Monday to Friday for realism, and also to give those who would prefer non-statics an option.

The animated gates are proximity-triggered and will open when approaching close. When taxiing from RWY 05 to the first gate, you will need to get very close for it to open, as the trigger had to be moved due to close proximity to the hold short node — this is not the case coming from the other direction.

There are four HAS with animated doors, two in each HAS site. The HAS in the F-35 complex will animate as soon as you get close enough. The HAS in the GR4 site have a 30-second delay, allowing for more realistic operations with the GR4s, which would operate out of the HAS rather than the ramp. The animated HAS numbers are 45 and 49 in one site and 57 and 59 in the other. They are all individually numbered, both visually and by parking number.

When Ian released RAF Honington last year he mentioned:

"I am hoping to build RAF Lossiemouth, Marham and Valley in the future so if anyone has any recent on base photos or could arrange for me to take photos please email me as it would be much appreciated."

I very much like the IM Scenery bases and I will definitely buy Valley and Lossie too if they materialize.

This looks awesome !
I just wish they would keep the bunkers doors open so that each bunker (reinforced hangar?) could act as a selectable parking spot...

Don't suppose there is any chance it could be modded to a Tornado base?
The F35 is a step too far for me...and calling it a Lightning is nearly as bad as Chinese MGs...

Well, there is at least one active Tornado there, with a stuffed one on display near the main gate. It's a great rendition of Marham; sometimes a bit heavy on fps, but definitely worth the modest price. And there is a parking space for my Vulcan, which is the most important thing!
