No, way Bearcat. I bet you anything its one of those simple things that appears complex when you are trying to problem solve. You know, one of those things that leaves you saying to yourself "DOH!" :redf: :toilet:

We can only wish this were the case. I have some history with TM hardware in CFS2 and i can tell you, it ain't something simple. I finally gave up on it and got an exchange from the store which i bought it from.

I turned the sim's joystick/keyboard settings and assignments and that CFS2.cfg file inside out and six ways to Sunday fiddling with the settings. And you can guess where my problem was --- the throttle. I also went outside the sim into Windows hardware tools and other means. Something about the way the throttle is hardwired into the stick that just doesn't agree with the sim. But it worked perfectly in all other sims.

Still more ideas:

BUT half the lower THROTTLE entries have now appeared. Making them the same as in Dirtman's suggestion has still made no difference.

So you added (copy / pasted) the rest of the lower throttle entries in to your CFS2.CFG?
Now all the figures I posted previously are there now ... right?

And the stick is still not working?

Have you created & saved a "profile" for the stick in CFS2?

If not; then do it now:


- from the Settings button in the sim:
SETTINGS / Controller Assignments

Now test the stick again.



If the problem still exists, open the main CFS2 folder, locate the new ThrustMaster CFG .... Make sure all the throttle numbers are present in both areas - copy / paste them in if missing.

Retest the stick - if not fixed; open the sim & go to:

SETTINGS / Controller Sensitivities
Make sure the throttle slider is fully to the right side.

Dirtman - I've tried all those suggestions but no improvement BUT I have found what might be a clue - when I look at controller sensitivities I see that the default is CH Pro Pedals. If I change that to Top Gun Afterburner, click OK and then fly, for the first part of the take off roll, power seems normal, it then drops back. I suspect that, at that point ,the sim has slipped to the Pedals again because when I immediately check sensitivities it is the Pedals which are showing and not, as I left it, the Top Gun.Obviously the Pedals and stick are connected in my setup. I emphasise again, however, that everything works in the other flightsim progs. and I don't want to upset them.

You wouldn"t upset any of the other Sim even if you buy another Joystick. Just buy a new one if can efford it. Wish you luck!

Well-looks like I found the problem. If I disconnect the Pro Pedals and the Saitek Quadrant, so leaving the stick as the only control, everything works correctly. Now have to get used to using the stick twist as rudder [don't like that]. Time I bought a new stick anyway!

Oh well, that was kinda simple...... Pro Pedals & a Quadrant eh? .... I don't remember you mentioning those before ..... guess I missed that part.
