Excellent. Just goes to show how things happen in this game. Never thought to add it to the corsair, Way to go Dude.
 
Yeah. that is so cool.:ernae:.. ya know I learned of the F4u-2 before the Hellcat, etc...

D'ya think this pod will fit on the Dogpatch Corsair?... or the donationware one!!??
 
Looks like it will. I'm going to try to get the F4U-2 ready for opps before I start messing with the F4U-5N. After I get the hang of things, I might even try to tackle the P-38M.

Looks like it had already been done. I was wondering if there was a freeware Birdcage anywhere. Gramps, please share... :applause:

Bad as I hate to tell yuns.......it was done for CFS2 (an FS9). It was in the FDG2 corsair donationware package.

I don't even have gmax loaded anymore since I retired, so couldn't convert it over even if I remembered how :kilroy:.
 
Oh well, does anyone know where to get a freeware Birdcage? If not, I guess I'll just have to make one.

Is there a 'Shirley Jane' skin that'd fit the cfs3 donationware Birdcage?... (which, tho' some say it's too high poly, I still luv it... easily the best lookin' f4u-1 (0r 1A)in the land of CFS3, IMHO!!:trophy::trophy::trophy:)

AND, BTW is there any way ta remove the center pylon/hangers??

Guess I'll have to then. Now I just have to sit down and take the time to spend money. Hate doing that. At least it goes to a good cause...
 
If you want to use it on a particular aircraft and it dont fit let me know,it should be easy enough to modify the radom to fit.the only prob being hardpionts. did the p38 have them as well, never knew that.
 
Nope, skin won't fit anything for cfs3, that I know of. I think the one your thinkin of was done by AH. I haven't done anything for cfs3 in a LONG time.

I donated the source files for the wildcat, but that's about it.
 
So far, I'm not having any problems with fit. The P-38 had a small radom installed under the nose and an extra seat added. A few made it to the theater before the end of the war but it was used largely in the Occupation of Japan.

But could you give a hint to an ordinary simflyer about what on earth is this RADOM thing? Is it a portable radar?

The radom is simply a Gmax file that can be loaded as a "weapon" much like the wheels for the Me 163. It looks like the radom used on WWII era naval fighters for night ops. So, no it isn't exactly portable radar. However, I have heard of some more talented people making actual fighter radar for this game out of the tatical display. I know that someone already made it into H2S radar for the Lancasters.

Gramps, who did you donate the FM-2 source files to? That model was excellent but the more recent CFS3 wildcat that was released has a more advanced cockpit. I wanted to use that pit in the FM-2 but it does not fit. If one had the FM-2 source file, could they make wildcat cockpit fit into the FM-2? Or for that matter, make it so you could use any cockpit in the FM-2?
