Yay, new video card...

cont'd from post above. As you can see these are unretouched and in sequence all within a space of just few seconds.

One more set flying to Tahiti in the clouds. I chose frame heavy aircraft deliberately. The WOP Spitfire is an FS9 port-over as well.

Fair enough, Ted, fair enough.

I wonder why I had a troublemaking card, too. I'm not the only one with this problem, but no one has found a real solution yet. The most confusing fact is that this problem is entirely random, not being specific for a certain hardware/software combination.

As for the cause, as I said before, it could have been a bad card, a bad driver, a bad combination of stuff, electromagnetic interference, the time of year, aliens, Michael Jackson, micro cuts in the PCB, the hypno toaALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!

At one point I was just tired of fighting ghosts, so the card had to go.

The wonderful thing is that these cards are getting cheaper and cheaper so they are not so scary as they used to be two years ago.............I have a piggy bank that I´ll bust by November and get me a 1 Gig Mamma!!!!!!..mybe they´ll have a two Gig one by then for the price of the one....one:amen:

Be glad.

I paid more twice that much for a high-end card about two years ago.

Although prices for video cards seem to be fluctuating over the years depending on innovations. Back in 2001, you paid about $1000 for a Geforce 3. Prices went down after that, but thanks to NVidia's monopol in 2006/7 prices started to skyrocket again.

What mobo are you running,Bjoern?

Asus P5QL Pro with a P43 chipset (P45 minus Crossfire). Not the best buy, but it does its job fairly well.

My 9800GTX+ 512, which I traded in for the 4850 has arrived.

And what can I say...it kicks the 4850's arse in every application so far. FSX has never been better. :d
