What is your Fave cooking show

Lionheart

SOH-CM-2014
Hey guys,

What is your fave cooking show? I know, you probably have many.

Mine is Alton Brown and then Rachel Ray is second. My most fave was the Cajun Cook, God rest his soul.

Justin Wilson , even his reruns . I like Alton Brown also but he does act a little too goofy at times .

Justin was awesome.. Loved his show. He was always saying 'whooooo'.. and overloading the spices and wine, lol..

One thing that he did every time was add a cool little story during the end. My dad was Cajun and talked just like him and he also told these wild stories at the dinner table that were a riot to hear.

Great guy.

I've gotta go with Everyday Italian. Not only is Giada very attractive but the recipes she comes up with are great. I swear I think I've got some Italian blood somewhere in me :icon_lol:

Back in the 80's I used to watch 'The Frugal Gourmet' all the time. Later on I watched Justin Wilson who was GREAT!! :applause: Now-a-days I'll catch Rachael Ray (very cute) every once in a while, but I mostly get my gastronomical "fix" online. Websites like http://www.epicurious.com/ are always worth the time to visit. Speaking of food I whipped this up for my younger son today. It's not exactly gourmet cooking but it's cheap, nutritious, and delicious. :wiggle:

15 Bean Soup

1 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 bag 15 Bean soup mix (pitch the seasoning packet)
1 packet of onion soup mix
1 16oz can Italian-Style Stewed Tomatoes
1 6oz can chicken chunks
Water
Salt

Soak beans overnight.
Place all ingredients, but the chicken, into pot and cook on med-low heat for 2 hours.
Add the chicken and cook for 1 hour more.
Salt to taste.

She is awesome. She has had her mom on the show a few times. She is a famous actress in Italy.

How on Earth does she stay so tiny and cook all that food! goodness..

:d

I can't do cooking shows. It sets off some kind of an alarm or something in my body that says I have to eat ...

:monkies:

Good Eats with Alton Brown. Mostly because he's kinda goofy and makes it fun. He's also got a local connection as he graduated from the New England Culinary Institute which is located here in VT.

Bobby Flay's Older Show, about grilling was pretty good too.

i also like Good Eats, because he goes into the science of cooking. It almost feels like that old show "Mr. Wizard" haha....my wife doesn't like him tho; i think she likes that Tyler guy...

Lionheart, re: 15 Bean Stew

I been making the same bean stew for a number of years now. It's good stuff in the winter. The only difference with mine is I haven't used onion soup mix and use my own mix of dried herbs. Have to give to onion soup mix a try next time I make it.

Favorite cooking show is Everyday Italian. As long as Giada keeps wearing those low-cut tops, I'll keep watching. Sometimes, I even remember what she was cooking. :icon_lol:
