Eat your heart out Chuck Yeager.

She sure is happy too ...

And she still has her uniform...I bet WASP uniforms would rank up toward the top of the rarer WW2 uniforms.

My daughter recently did a report on the WASP's for her high school history class, she really enjoyed the link.

Thanks, :USA-flag:

That's very cool,my mom was in the Navy Reserve during the war and built aircraft engines for Pratt and Whitney.

Father says your mother's right she's really up on things. Before we married mommy served in the WAACS in the phillipines. Well I have heard the WAACS recruited old maids for the war. Mommy isn't one of those I've known her all these years.

Cazzie,
I can't even begin to imagine what kind of memories that ride must have brought back to her....Merlin sound, smell, touch, feel, cockpit view.....:medals:

Panther, I can't say for her but I know the sound, smell, touch, feel, and cockpit view of that particular P-51. That's the Collings Foundation's TP-51C "Betty Jane" I rode in and flew last year here at KILG.... and in the same rear seat as her. It's in my avater. ;) I also know the thrill she felt... goose bumps all over. And the smile is the same from anyone that's ridden in it, as you can not wipe the grin off a Cheshire cat. ;)

I'm glad they took her up to relive hear youth. Thank you for your service Violet Cowden.

have you seen him lately?....i have..can you say manboobs?

I will revise my statement:

When they were young and flying Mustangs, she had boobs and Chuck didn't.

Now that they are old and riding in Mustangs, Chuck has boobs and she doesn't.
