Hi dandolo513, I remember a seasonal texture utility in the Kursk Campaign by Ken Stallings and friends. Where to download it now? ... I don't know. It was a BIG file. Maybe some of the Campaign pros might have some more information.

hello,
thanks i have it but the instructions are not complete , for my skills.
In the instructions the author speaks about how to manage the texture folder to making the season.exe running but i have not found nothing in relation to in the package CFS2_SEASONS.
Without these instructions when i launch season.exe i receive a error message saying " run time error 53, file not found". :banghead:
I must say my CFS" installation is on an external HD and not on "C".
So, i need all the instructions to realize a success.
Do someone have these instructions?
Thanks

Ok...then you need to open CFS2_Seasons folder.

Find, seasons Configuration Settings and right click it...open with notepad.

Change the C: to the letter of your external HD.

[Pathing]
CurrentPath=c:\program files\microsoft games\combat flight simulator 2\scenedb\world\

[Current]
CurrentTexture=Original

[EXE_Pathing]
EXEPath=c:\program files\microsoft games\combat flight simulator 2\

Exit and Save the changes.

Test and see if that works. :ernae:

Salve,
I have done but... the wll known message jumps and sing to me" run time error 53, file not found.
I am sure that i should rename the season folder but i do not understand how.
in the season tutorial we can read:
"Tutorial for using Seaons.EXE to begin CFS2

Be sure you have performed all the steps listed in the Texure tutorial to rename Lennart’s textures and set up the corresponding directory structure, otherwise, this executable will not work."

so i wonder
1.where is the Texure tutorial;
2.how i have to rename Lennart’s textures??

I say again that something is missed.

Any Idea?
Thanks

Well dandolo513, I am 99% sure that the renaming of Lennart's textures has already been done. ie 005b2su1 texture name. When I had this campaign several years back, the auto installer did all of the work. If you already have the Configuration Settings file in the CFS2_Seasons folder, I do not know the problem. :confused:

This ini file is, by default, placed in: c:\program files\CFS2_Seasons. Regardless of where your ground textures folders are located, this ini file must be placed at C:\Program files\CFS2_Seasons\ for the Seasons.exe utility to work correctly.

Sorry I could not be more helpful, Scott Rodney's readme has an e-mail address. Maybe try a message to him?

Version A) different seasons worldwide:

Create new folders Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter or similar.

Place them wherever you want them to be.
Make sure, each of them has an own SCENERY and TEXTURE folder.

Now you need to search for the file worldlc.bgl -this one calls the textures.

Put a copy in each SCENERY folder and the suiting ground textures in the TEXTURE folder.

Now start your game and add each folder like normal scenery via the menu.

Make sure to put them in the hierarchy near the place, where the normal worldlc.bgl is called.

Now you can enable your seasons just by a click. Enabling more than one only has the result to see the first files found by the game.

I use this way of organizing my seasons for years.

Version B) Europe

If you have downloaded Sander's Landclass cfs2_EURW_LC.bgl (which is just an enhanced European part of the WorldLC.bgl) - you can do the same, when putting this BGL in your season's scenery folder.

See example. At the moment I am using European summer textures, which are placed with Sander's LC.
On top are the other files like Mesh, Shorelines etc.

Some of these scenery files are actually doing the same. So I put a prefix 01-04 in the entry of the list just to inform myself.
I need to enable one of each to have the set complete.
(01: Winter OR Summer OR Spring)

Hope I could explain good enough.
