After a complete new install of CFS3 and updated to 3.1a, I find that there is no water showing up , be it rivers or sea on stock config settings. Running XP SP2, Ati mobility Raedeon HD 2600 XT 6.14, with DirectX 10. Searched but can't find any similar problems in this forum , any ideas or help are welcomed...

Sorry, I can't seem to upload my 640 X 400 jpeg attachment, But if I could it would display water as extremely transparent with land mass below its surface:banghead:

Check here:

**C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3.1*\effects\fxtextures\h2od_01.dds (thru h2od_16.dds)

*or whatever your install is named... (**and/or whichever drive it's installed on...)
...also, you should have from 120 to 190 'dds' textures in the "fxtextures" folder...

Hope it helps...

The Catch

popsaka thanks for the help, but this is a fresh install and all files are accounted for.

Tailwind I think is on the right track, but there's a catch.

CFS3, as well as all of my Micro$oft software runs beautifully on my iMac OS X Bootcamp partition. The question is does OS X and XP SP2 share the same drivers with CFS3 ?

Thanks Guys:running:

Yo

TRY GOING INTO YOUR CONFIG IN MAIN GAME FOLDER AND MAKE SURE WATER RENDER IS NOT CHECKED,COULD BE THAT SIMPLE!

CHEERS:wavey:

Now that's what I'm talkin about

Thanks all, it was the driver after all. I forgot that with M$ one must uninstall old drivers then install new drivers step by step manually. It ain't just point and click is it ?

Thanks Tailwind, now can you advise me with ultra config's. I've got buku fps ?:applause:

Just a footnote and link ( http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx ) regarding OSx Boot Camp drivers pan all the way down on os system panel to Boot Camp Xp etc. for driver.

And M$ ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896256 ) dual cpu fix

What FPS are you getting?

I had this same card, HDMI out onto a 32" LCD TV. I was getting 60 FPS without too much effort straight out of the box. I dropped the card 'cause the ATI drivers wouldn't play nice with some other apps I was running. There are a few tweaks in the config section but am at the office now and I have them written down at home. I will post these later on today.
