WOW, nice close up of the bad boys. What camera and lens where ya using..Mike

Mike, its a Pentax *istD L 6.1 MP digital slr with a Vivitar 28-210mm aspherical lens.

i had the camera on aperature priority which means i was picking the aperature and the camera would pick a coresponding shutter speed. most of the time i was in the f8-f11 range but i was still getting 2000+ shutter speeds with cloud cover...which is why i was able to stop 450+ knot a/c...the lens is also autofoucus which is a big plus..

solo #5 had the fastest pass of the day...i know it was the fastest because he went by and then about 2 seconds later the sound went by:icon_lol:

Absolutely amazing photos. I am envious of your camera...my digital is an $80 GE A735, 7.0 megapixel...about the size of a pack of cigarettes, but loaded with features for a "cheap" camera. Takes great shots...but nothing compared to your hardware. I have two mid to late 70s Canon AE1 35 millimeter cameras and a good selection of lenses...but who can afford taking 500 film pics a day? Nice cameras...love them...but would really LOVE to have a nice digital SLR with a nice selection of lenses. My largest lens for the AE1 is an 800mm....takes some really nice pics and when coupled with a 3x Teleconverter, I can take photos of a gnat on an ant's butt a good mile away.

AE1's are really good cameras...nearly indestructible. i still have my Pentax film cameras...MX's which are entirely mechanical except for the light meter. they are 20+ years old but i rarely use them any more...although i got some really good shots with them...this is a scan of one of my 'old school' 35mm pictures..
