Icarus Rapide released!!

have to say thanks to manuele villa and the references he sent me...ala littoria now it's my favourite skin...easy but 1935 time looking era

it could be interesting make sm-55...but gauges references are pratically impossible...my dream was an sm55 with mission adventures balbo...but not sm-55 still present except a bad brasilian version...and know how was panel design and instruments....if you can help with that manuele...it's much appreciated. I have all "istituto luce" balbo movies with sm55 but also there only few seconds of the panel and only a part.

All the more reason to purchase it! :ernae:

How is Manuele? We miss him here. Haven't heard from him in quite a while. Hope all is well with him.

manuele was here yesterday...i have answered to his post...i think he will read and answer here soon.

Well first report hehe. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say and many people consider this an ugly aircraft. To me the Dragon Rapide looks great. It also is a classic design and it must have been pretty hot for its time!

Exterior model: 9/10
This Icarus version is pretty neat. The exterior model is really smooth and so far I couldn't spot any oddities where different parts of the model merge.

Texturing: 7/10
The textures look good, though slightly lowrez and on some paints the lines aren't 100% smooth. However I actually like it better than I initially thought when looking at the official screenshots. Not as catchy and artful as the Gladiator but still a good score.

Virtual Cockpit: 8/10
Love most of the textures in the VC. It looks really neat and is visually the most appealing part of the plane. Nice lighting, good functionality. It doesn't get 9 out of 10 simply because when looking outside I only see the propellor spin but the engine isn't modelled. This takes away some realism.

Sound pack: 8/10
Now I have no idea how these engines sound in real life and I am really just only listening to the sound itself. It's a good soundpack, nuff said. :p

Flight model: no score.
Haven't flown her long enough to give an honest score on that. So far it handles ok though.

Coin balance: 9/10
For this price with these models and so many neat paints to pick from? Sweet deal I'd say. I'm glad I bought it!

So overall I'd say an early score of 8 out of 10. I'm happy with it.:ernae:

And now some pics to backup the talking. ;)

good to hear..hear many opinions help to understand.

Mithrin you didn't mention the scenery with 50 humans and many new objects...check inside the dragon rapide folder there is an flight simulator x files folder..move all content to c:/My Documents and then you will have two flights with the dragon and the scenery...all it is also readable inside instructions.

Icarus,

I am always amazed and impressed with your extreme graphics. Very nice work Sir. Especially the subtle handling of shading in the VC around the panel as well as the fabric tape zones along the sides of the fuselage. Nice work man!
