Short of buying FSX: Deluxe, is there a way to acquire the "SDK"?

I've been fiddling in Gmax, and would like to have the SDK on hand just in case. Also aren't there necessary tools located in the sdk for exporting models etc. ?
Edit: Since buying FSX I have been kicking myself for not getting the deluxe version...I may end up just ordering it anyway.

Acceleration includes an SDK also.

I think that the license to use the SDKs is part of the FSX Deluxe or Acceleration license. I don't think that MS considesr them freeware.

Are those not just the SDK updates ?..You still need the SDK off a disk for them to work...

Unfortunately for all updates - including the one on the Accel disk - you need the base one which comes with FSX Deluxe. They all ask for their immediate predecessor before installing (or they have every time I've installed them, which is several).

There are two ways to legally obtain the requisite SDK installation files:

1. FSX Deluxe edition
2. FSX Acceleration add-on edition

On the Acceleration disc are two separate installers that must be run in this order:

SDK1a - installs the base SDK
sdk.msi - deletes base SDK, then installs SDK2

Nota bene: choosing method #2 will give you the SDK, but you still won't have the additional "flyable" aircraft included with Deluxe edition!

False alarm...those are just the updates. I'm getting deluxe it looks like.

Or unless you have a MSDN license.... not too many of us floating around.


Because ESP also contains the SDK installer.
