I wanted to say thank you to everyone that was helping me to learn how to paint in photoshop and save it the right way. Also thanks for the PM's! I think I finally got the hang of the alpha layers just enough to most likely do something stupid. :isadizzy:

However I did manage to get to my first goal which was a clean off the factory floor look.

Now, my actually turning it into a warbird that is familar is another story all together.

Thanks everyone :icon29:

Good to see HW, a lot of paints come out with the aircraft looking like it just came out of the paint shop. Good weathering to make them look realistic is most welcome.
Thanks for your work.

We can all learn to paint happy colors. How about we put a happy tree right here...

lol, I tell you what. When I was trying to figure out the alpha layers thing if someone would have said anything about a happy little tree it would not have been pretty. :monkies: After the first couple of hours of it my wife told me I needed to take a walk. :running:

Alphas are wierd at first to comprehend. Its actually digital information assigned for a purpose, such as opaque or reflection effects in FS, depending if it has a _T or not. With a _T, the Alpha will cause reflection. Without the T, it causes translusence/opacity.

Finding a program that can add a Alpha is the hard part. DXT1.bmp can do this, and you can save the Alpha as a BMP, then recall the Alpha bitmap each time you burn a new bitmap from your PSD file. Simply click the Add Alpha, and select it through Browse.

God bless Bob! He was awesome....! I used to watch his shows every Sunday morning.

'Aww.. That tree is all alone. He needs a friend. I think we'll make a little happy tree right there so he has a friend.'

How about his little rescued Chipmunks that would sleep in his chest pocket while he was painting?

Cool dude..

I had never seen Bob (if that's his name) until I emigrated to Canada 16 years ago. I stumbled across him one day while channel surfing the PBS stations and just had to stop and watch. The guy was a bit 'samey' (i.e. all his paintings were in the same style) but very talented nonetheless. I loved what he could show in just 30 short minutes.

To get back on topic I have been following your other thread Headwind and you are doing very well with your paint, keep up the good work and if you have problems shout up....there are lots painters on here who will be glad to help. I spent several hours on Skype late last night helping out a buddy in the UK who is doing his first P-51 paint and sending him screenshots of my paint program so that he could find the various bits in the templates.

Thank you very much Tako, I really do appreciate all the help you have all given so far. I may call on you for sure. lol :icon29:
