I highly recommend it. I use it in conjustion with FEX, and the USA/Canada Ultimate Terrain X packages. The thing you have to remember is that when you get USA/Canada GEX is that it is only the ground textures. The Ultimate Terrain X also adds true height to mountains and depth to valleys. Adds lakes, roads, railroad tracks and street lamps. Very detailed. I bought it because in stock FSX around NS Mayport where I am based there was nothing but trees. In real life there is a point, and the city. GEX and FEX actually added the roads, buildings and such. Made it a lot more lively place to fly. If you would like to see a screenshot of a particular area I would be more than willing to take it so you can see before you buy. I haven't looked back since though.

GEX is outstanding - make sure you visit their website forum and get all the latest downloads and follow the instructions when you install the enhanced autogen.

Thanks. I was just checking to see if I had the latest version (I don't trust the update button from within the program and I haven't looked for ages) and I was surprised to see the download version on Flight1 is only 1.06.

You won't be able to fly in the US/Canada region without it once you purchase 
I highly recommend coupling it with a good landclass (I use Scenerytech North America, but can't compare because it's the only one I've used) to get the most use out of the new textures.
