That last shot looks amazing... very realistic. I am looking forward to this, the P-38, the F-15, and especially the upcoming F-22.

It is a very realistic model. Many things are covered.

The Fun doesn’t end at sundown , the addition of some cockpit lighting seemed like a good idea, though she was not supposed to be out after dark the prototype FY-23 might well have needed some and now it has it .<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
As well the Ejection Seat is live , i rigged it so when one clicks both handles the viewpoint is switched to spot , there is a boom and rocket blast as the canopy is blown off and chair and pilot goes flying ... as well its coded so that all engine power is lost and the aircraft crashes., but you get out safe and that’s what counts, while i was at it i added a sonic boom, and none of these are on lighting busses so it dont blow up if you hit the L key <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Other little elements of systems management and cockpit environmental controls are in place now and she is now on a short final for release.

I think I already asked this question but don’t remember the answer.

You need the Acc package to run this right?

FSX Gold or Acceleration are required , this was done to keep the pricepoint as low as possible, the vast majority of the gauge and model codebase is all custom, but there are elements that Sim1.dll from Accell will read and Sim1.dll SP2 will not.

Here are some static shots, and VC shots as requested. A lot of close ups to show off the extreme details, and clear textures.

this, I didn't know. That sounds awesome.

I'm glad this is a model with the ability to EJECT. People will complain about a rivet being in the wrong place or an aerodynamic quality that is all wrong for a modern jet fighter, but oddly, no one ever complains about the inability to eject.

Nice Pics , i noticed that the lower screen with the GPS is off , i did that to ensure great framerates but if you want to turn it on , the top button on the left side of the screen marked PWR turns it on and off .<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
You can also set the refresh rate, text size and antialiasing of all the display panels by clicking on Menu , then BIT , then GDI+ and select the options desired, currently they default to medium settings, again to ensure the highest framerates possible on lower end computers.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
The rest of the week is being spent on preparing the documents so people will know how to run the systems.

Regarding the Ejection sequence, i suspect that other developers ran into the same roadblock i did at first ,the animations are not an issue , nor is having a sequence of events like pulling a series of handles a major challenge to code , but having ones eye point remain in the VC as all the parts go flying out looked kinda funny and getting a solution to that as well as ensuring the plane did indeed crash presented a bit of a poser, i had to sleep on that one . <o:p></o:p>

Looks absolutely beautiful, I can't wait :D

Those first shots look A LOT like they were around Mt. Rose ski resort by Reno, NV- am I anywhere close?

Absolutely top notch.

So does your aircraft become the simobject (like a missle or bomb) and you become the aircraft when you eject? That's got to be some interesting coding.

Jim

If anyone has any specifics that they would want to see let me know so I can get it up here. This aircraft is definately a hot rod. Lots of power to go blasting off into the outer reaches of the atmosphere with a quickness, and handles like it's on rails. A lot of people are going to have fun with this bird.

Sorry, those pics were from Southern California, all within the realm of Edwards AFB's test airspace. I may be wacko, but I feel cool doing beta testing on the ATF out of Edwards, where the competition was flown. Stand by for more pics!!

I can't speak for the final result from FSD, but I don't think so. Right now I believe that FSX still treats the post-ejection airframe like the user aircraft. However, believe me that the ejection is done believably and tastefully.
