YF-23 new screenies:

i thinkit's a beautiful aircraft, i'm not really into fighter jets, i almost never fly the hornet, but that looks really cool. :applause:

Sorry, those pics were from Southern California, all within the realm of Edwards AFB's test airspace. I may be wacko, but I feel cool doing beta testing on the ATF out of Edwards, where the competition was flown. Stand by for more pics!!

I agree. I cant think of a better place to go scootin around in a top-secret X-Plane!

Great project! I really regret the fact I didn't buy Acceleration at the moment...
I hope the same does not apply to the upcoming F-15 ?

That hasnt been decided that yet, it’s a determination we can make once we see how the YF-23 is received , but i will say that the money that our clients saved by us choosing that route is enough to pay for a copy of Acceleration... <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

We didn’t think that people really want to pay more than 25 Dollars, the majority of releases are more costly and while all have their own value it was determined that we wanted to offer a fully featured aircraft, giving great value for dollar and see how it was received,, heck even the radar actually works to track AI Aircraft! , Collimated hud that stays on the horizon ! , Ejection Seat that functions ! , Cockpit Pressurization System that functions !, Master Caution System that Functions , with readout and logs , Custom Sound Files and start-up sequences... <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

There's no question for me, it's a must buy. It's lines are amazing. The only jet aircraft I'll likely fly as I'm partial to props. Flight dynamics and handling should be unknown to all but the design engineers and test pilot(s) that flew it and I also suspect this info is not available for public consumption, but I don't care. It's just too dam sexy to pass up.

You were really going to charge that much for an all custom model? Would it really be worth it?

I've seen many other developers charge much more and give a lot less, and it's usually accompanied with some BS about how their product offers some feature like "advanced systems modelling" which is always arguable. In fact, there is a low fidelity release with an EXTREMELY high price tag being developed by another developer right now with the same excuses given. Everyone here knows me, and how tolerant I am of a bum deal. FSD is not selling anyone snake oil here.

Industry wide pricing is arguably high, but the market has shown us that time and time again these prices are validated and supported by the vast amounts of consumers that buy it.

Given these factors, the planned price of this aircraft is actually quite low, not only for the industry but comparably to what's being offered.

Here's some of the newest beta. Some minor changes were made, and the addition of afterburner effects.

Nice shot with the landing gear down while taking off

Blasting off into the upper levels of the atmosphere with burners blazing

A shot of the backup engine display.

A shot of me breaking the sound barrier. Yes that is a vapor effect, and it also makes a nice boom to accompany Mach 1.

Though this is not a carrier aircraft, it is a barrel of fun to fly around the pattern with the new Nimitz! Perhaps somewhat easier to fly on approach than the FSX Accel Hornet.

An ultra high performance aircraft, nicely controlable throught a very wide envelope. It is indeed interesting to watch the flight control surfaces do their thing in external view. We've come a long way from Glen Crutiss's invention of the aileron (I know, the subject of a famous lawsuit....).

Hard to imagine what a wild ride a full burner verticle climb would be!

Cheers: T.
