If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Game Booster

I have been using Game Booster for some time now and it does make a difference, it works by shutting down backgroung programs that are not needed while 'simming'.

Another utility that is equally effective is SmartRam, also by ioBit. It frees RAM previously being squandered. Used in conjunction with Game Booster, frame rates on a moderate system can be improved by up to 2 FPS (I have a moderate system and these are typical improvements I see) , but the main improvement is smoother running of your sim.

Wouldnt that still be the same as using your "msconfig" and just shutting those items down that way?

Downloaded it lastnight, seems to work pretty well. I was even able to turn up my graphics some without any negative results!

:ernae:

:engel016:Worked for me, except an app called WMI Performance Adaper :icon33:Whatever that is:icon_eek: would not stop:isadizzy: So I reran it this time leaving that one in and it worked, Ran eto and noticed a pick up in fps.

Take a look at Process Lasso while you're at it. It automatically increases the CPU priority when you run your game. As long as you're not short of other resources, it makes stuff running in the background effectively go away while you're in game, and then come back when you exit.
