USS Nimitz released

Dear all,

After several months of search around internet to solve the JAVA error dialog box at the start of FSX, I found the solution on a Java developers forum.

A windows system file (mysteriously modified, maybe by a windows auto-update) that can be found under C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc. it's the hosts file.

Open it with notepad and add the following line if not there:
127.0.0.1 localhost
after the following line.
:: 1 localhost

Save it to your desktop (window won't allow you too save back in it original place). Then navigate back to C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and override the existing file with the modified one from your desktop.

That's it fire up FSX and enjoy AICarriers2r2.

It solved my problem but some others may have another problem. Please note that AICarriers can't be fired up independantly from FSX. Its need to be fired up via the exe.xml file.

The root cause is that IPv6 is incompatible with AICarriers and it need the IPv4 loopback address.

Why is the hosts file modified? I don't know.

Hope this will help and please feed back would be appreciated.

Best regards,

Amedee

I love the package!

Only bummer is you can't see the carrier in instant replay.

Just wondering if there's any way to fix this (my guess is no..)

Oh well, still fun anyway.

Lateral-G,

Get FS-Recorder for FSX (a quick google search will point you to it). It's freeware, and they accept donations.

All you do, is get to where you want recording to start, go to your tool bar at the top, hit record, do the landing or takeoff, whatever, hit escape when you're done, save the 'video' to whatever name, then go back to the tool bar, select fs-recorder again, hit play, and select the video you just saved, and you will see the carrier.

Thanks!

That works perfectly.

And the best part is, if you record the FS Recorded video with fraps, your sounds won't be all jumbled up like the FSX instant replay does

Alphasim EA6B - Tailhook and launch bar positions

Hi,
I have been trying different combinations of tailhook and launch assist
for the Alphsim EA6B but finding nothing that really works. For launch assist it appears that the launch bar lug needs to be almost center to the aircraft. Moving it forward seem to negate the positioning relative to the blast door and Shift>I fails. For the tail hook nothing at all works. I have used the suggestion of positioning a nav light to mimic lug & tailhook positions (very good idea) but am not seeing a solution.

[TailHook]
tailhook_length=6.0
tailhook_position=-21.00, 0.0, -6.8
cable_force_adjust=1.0

[launch_assistance]
launch_bar_pivot =2.233, 0.0, -2.122
launch_bar_lug = 1.5, 0, -6.8

Thanks,

tc

I use Rob Barendregt's carrier package (rcbco-30.zip) for launching and recovery. It used to be on AVSIM but I have no idea where you'd find it now (is it on SOH anyone?).

:icon_lol:I have the mods loaded and they seem to be working with one problem! I can't see and of the AI/static A/C on deck no matter whih CVA I choose or what detail level I select???

Anyone figure out a way for this to work in multiplayer?

I've given it a go, but I wouldn't say I have it figured out yet.

bug report: the foam is not floating behind the carrier, but is making a huge column getting in the sky at the end of the cvn.
I use fsx sp2, fex, gex and utx, java RE 6, and latest nvidia drivers. what do you think about this?

I'd say you've overwritten your FsX effects file with an Fs9 one!
