as i finish new skins i will post screenshots...tomorrow should arrives the murphy's pilot version

Looks great, apart from the rivets! :applause:

Actually rivets will remain as they are.
Such a great model to have two-inch-diameter rivets. That would be one heavy and indestructible 'cast-iron' airplane if it was like that in real life! In those screenshots, the craft's rivets sometimes resembled those from the Titanic more than an airplane...lol. ;)

Cool to watch the progress though, and very nice modeling and texturing, icarus!

yes....there are many will buy the titanic...better write on our forum....missing such comments lol. perhaps made aircraft with defects its a way to avoid " some" buy the aircraft...better life for developers...more than a post seems always a HIT to the developer...actually just tired of this.

you know what....people want to buy come to visit our website to see when will be released...others can continue with the game

started sub on saturday.......Mission or Flight Adventure in the Orinoco as soon as Duck is out!!!

Yes we must be positive - you wont strain your eyes if your a rivet counter as they stand out so well.

icarus, sorry, it just seems there are so many people pointing out the rivets (which was the first thing that struck me, too) I wanted introduce a little comic relief! No hard feelings. I wasnt however sarcastic about the compliments! It does look good!

will you make the duck with the tail hook? if you look at the first pic, theres a tail hook, so will there be one? this would be a great!

Exp. (the first pic to show what im talking bout)

Sorry, another rivet counter here. Much as i love this plane, the rivets will stop me purchasing:-(

Such there is a Coastie paint, im in for buying this Duck. Also I see Helldiver posting here helping.:icon29:

stay with us icarus...

I look at your rendition of the Duck as an homage to Grumman - not known as 'The Iron Works' for nuthin'

:icon29:

icarus, please, as costumers, all where asking is to reduce the size of the rivets.... please.....
it may look good to you but as costumers, we should be the ones that ask for big things like this, the rivets are too large and all we are asking is to just reduce the rivet size, it dosent look good to us and where the ones that pay you for such a good product. there has been to many complaints bout it to not ignore it. please, it all where asking is to reduce the rivet size so everyones happy. it dose take away from the realism. but on the other side, it is getting kinda old hearing, we want the rivet's reduced. but, it is understandible wanting a better product since where paying for it.

(ill still buy it....)

PS: will there be a Tail hook version of the Duck??? kinda like i posted earlier?

Be careful what you wish for.

Seriously, this thread has been largely positive, supportive, full of praise and even helpful advice, so I don't really understand the snarly response to the only piece of polite criticism. Anyways, I'll just wish Icarus well with it (sincerely) and wait quietly for the Storch...

Rivit size didn't seem to harm the Catalina sales, probably because it's a larger aircraft and anyway it's a beautifully made model.
I'll bet that some modelers leave the rivits large as the vast majority of the buyers will have TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024 where smaller sized rivits may disappear and any changes you make in the top menu that affect the FsX.cfg in any way, put it back to 1024!!
Mathias' Fw190 has probably the most realistic rivits in FsX but he constantly reminds us all to make that TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=2048.
My first screenshots of The Fw190 on the forums had the lower settings and the rivits weren't visible (that was so embarassing, I will never make that mistake again:isadizzy:)

So from the screenshots I've seen of the Duck it is a fantastic rendition of an aircraft in FsX that probably wouldn't have seen the light of day were it not for Icarus.

But two-inch rivets are not a solution for this problem...removing the mip maps would be a solution ;)

Tim

Yeah I agree. But my vote is we just let him be about the rivet issue. He made his mind up it seems so theres no sense in continuing to push the issue, we'll only end up making a negative environment in here.

BTW I think a (proportional) tailhook model would be cool as well. :)

all i am is just rapping up the rivet issue so he keep making his product, I REALLY WANNA TAILHOOK VERSION!!! yea, i dont care bout the rivets on the aircraft so much as to stop me from buying it, but i just hope it raps things up bout the issue.
