As in the Fokker D XXI by K. Malinowski. A very sharp aircraft, but with a scarcity of repaints. I am working on correcting that situation. I have three skins done, with the third being the nicest and most complex. I have also tossed together a sound pack for the plane, using Lawdog's Blenheim sound pack as the basis. I have also taken the MDL into Martin Wright's MDLmaterial and replaced the mint green VC color with a non-mint green green....that mint green was buring my retinas OUT!

Not sure when I will done with the paints and uploading....I have SOOOOOOO many projects that are THIS CLOSE to being done that I need to finish off and upload...and I pity for poor folks who have to get it them into the download queue.

Anyhows, here's a few pics of a Fokker D XXI that was captured by the Germans.

I am going to give the rivet counters time to prepare for some inaccuracies. The Fokker D XXI that K. Malinowski modeled is the Series 1, which had a Mercury radial engine. Some of the schemes that I will be doing on this plane were actually seen on later variants of the D XXI, which had different engines, different cowls, different oil coolers and stuff. If there were models of the later variants, all would be well and I could apply the proper schemes to the proper variants....BUT, there aren't any models of the later variants..so, I will be doing Series 2, 3, and 4 skins on the Series 1 that we do have a model of.

Also, some of the schemes have the orange rudder with the black out line....I tried and tried to get that black out line on the rudder and get it to look nice...but after an hour of trying, I said screw it, and tossed the black out line into the trash. On those schemes that would normally have the orange rudder with the black outline, all you will be getting is the orange rudder. Live with it or paint the black outline on yourself. Life is too short and too full of unpleasantries enough without adding another headache to it by trying to get that black out line on and in a visually appealing manner.

Uploading

Now that the server and download library are pretty much back to 100%, I am going to begin uploading some of the work that I have ready for public offering. Some sound packs, some paints, some MDL tweaks.

Tonight I will be uploading:

BMW132 version 2 sound pack: an improved version of my original BMW132 sound pack, based on Lawdog's original JU-52 sound pack

JU-52 Sound Pack, OBIO style: a tweaked version of Lawdog's original JU-52 sound pack, throatier, less proppy

Grumman F3F sound pack: Based on Lawdog's Dauntless sound pack, tweaked for use with the Aeroplane History Grumman F3F.

Fokker D. XXI Series 1 sound pack: Based on Lawdog's Blenhiem sound pack, this package reflects the Mercury radial engine used in the first series of the D. XXI. I made this sound pack to go with K. Malinowski's CFS2 (works great in FS2004) Fokker D. XXI. Paints for the plane to follow later in the week.

YAS Spit VB Float Tweak Pack: A package of three new paints and some tweaks for Merlin66's Spitfire VB Float Plane. Contains just the three paints, FS2004 config file and a set of CFS2 files (config and DP). Milton Shupe tweaked the float point and flap settings for better water handling and flap performance.

In the coming week or so, I will be getting more of my projects packaged up and uploaded.

Now I am off to the upload page.

I am holding off on uploading the Spit VB float tweaks package until I get the green light from Merlin66 on the config and DP changes...small, but still they are his files.

Adding to the list of uploads:

A pack of 5 new skins for K. Malinowski's Fokker D. XXI, with a tweaked MDL that has been given a touch of shine and a repainted cockpit (no more mint green..it might be historically accurate, but is hard on the eyes after a while).

Actually, my research indicates a neutral gray would be more accurate for a Fokker D XXI cockpit (this would include Dutch, Danish and Finnish models.) The instrument panel was black, and there were some objects (radio, control switches, junction boxes, and the like) which could have some variation in color, including the wiring (which appears to have just been taped to structural elements) but gray seems to have been the prevailing color. The exact hue of gray varied slightly from factory to factory...
